Clash Royale Trade Tokens guide: How to get and where to use

One of Supercell’s most popular strategy games, Clash Royale, has been providing an engaging gaming experience for players for over eight years. Throughout its tenure, it has introduced innovative features like Tower Troops and Card Evolutions. Among these additions is the Trade Tokens system.

In this tutorial, I’ll explain what trade tokens are, how to earn them, and what benefits they offer when used in Clash Royale. Essentially, these tokens enable you to swap excess or unwanted cards with other players within the game. There are various methods for obtaining them, and once acquired, they can be utilized as well.

What are Trade Tokens in Clash Royale

In-game currency called Trade Tokens are found in Clash Royale. These tokens enable you to swap cards with other players, categorized into four distinct levels: Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary, mirroring the varying rarities of their card counterparts. You can store up to ten of each token, but for now, the Champion token remains unavailable.

Using trade tokens within the community allows you to swap surplus or unnecessary cards with others, thus filling gaps in your card collection for more advanced upgrades. Anything beyond level 11 demands substantial amounts of gold and identical cards, regardless of rarity.

Besides the non-tradeable Champion cards, the quantity of cards you’re allowed to trade for each Token is determined as follows:

Except for Champion cards that cannot be traded, here’s how many cards you can swap for each Token:

  • Legendary Token: 1 Legendary card
  • Epic Token: 10 Epic cards
  • Rare Token: 50 Rare cards
  • Common Token: 250 Common cards

If your card has reached its maximum limit, you can propose a trade by paying an amount of Gold equivalent to the excess cost of the card. Here’s more information on the process.

  • Common: 5 Gold per card (1,250 for the entire Common stack)
  • Rare: 25 Gold per card (1,250 for the entire Rare stack)
  • Epic: 100 Gold per card (1,000 for the entire Epic stack)
  • Legendary: 7,500 Gold per card.

How to obtain Trade Tokens in Clash Royale

Trade tokens can be collected in several different ways. For instance, you can get them by finishing Challenges or advancing along the Trophy Road. Additionally, you can buy them from special deals in the Shop.

1. In-game purchase

One method to acquire them is by buying them with real money from the store. Often, these come as part of a combo deal, a card starter pack, or offers in a chest. Generally, these deals are beneficial, but they can only be collected if you consistently play the game.

2. Via Challenges

In some situations, you’ll notice that success brings about various levels of rewards, including trade tokens. Earning these tokens requires reaching a specific number of victories. Exceptionally scarce, legendary tokens are hard to come by. So, if an event offers a chance to acquire them, it’s advisable not to let it slip through your fingers.

3. Trophy Road rewards

At Trophy Road, you have an additional method to earn Trade Tokens. By collecting a certain amount of trophies within the game, you will receive Trade Tokens as prizes on the Trophy Road. The preferred technique is usually by claiming these rewards from various events and contests within the game itself.

4. Pass Royale rewards

At present, the sole method to secure the tokens is through the Pass Royale. As you progress and reach specific levels in the Pass Royale, you are granted a Trade Token of every rarity. However, it’s important to note that only by reaching the rewards tiers from Free, Gold, or Diamond can you acquire the Pass Royale Tier rewards.

How to use Trade Tokens in Clash Royale

Here are two options for utilizing your trade tokens: you can exchange them at a shop, or you can do so through fellow clan members. I’ll guide you through each method.

Utilizing the Trader for In-Store Trading: You can transact cards using our designated trader. The card selection is renewed every 24 hours, so remember to check in daily with the trader to cater to your choices.

2. Conducting trades through your Guildmates: To accomplish this, navigate to the game’s primary menu and then click on the “Trading” option.

  • Select the card you want to get out of the four options available in the selection menu. You have to pick the cards of the same rarity, or else you won’t be able to trade.
  • Now select the cards you offer from your inventory.

Only their approval remains needed on your proposal. Once given, the trade tokens will be taken from your balance, followed by the addition of the card to your collection.
