Clash Royale ‘The Cannoneer’ Tower Troop: All you need to know

As a dedicated fan of Clash Royale, I’ve been eagerly waiting for new and exciting additions to the game. The latest addition, The Cannoneer Tower Troop, has truly lived up to my expectations.

Clash Royale is becoming more engaging with each passing season, as every season brings fresh elements for players. In line with the Clash Royale 2024 plan, the beginning of this year has been particularly thrilling due to the debut of the new Tower Troop card – The Cannoneer. Let’s delve into the details of this latest addition to Clash Royale’s Tower Troops.

The Crown Towers, a new type of tower card introduced in the December 2023 Clash Royale update, took us by surprise. Initially, it was believed that this card type would be added to the game only after 2024. To clarify, the previously existing Tower Princess is now referred to as a Crown Tower, with the “Princess” designation being separated for clarity.

As someone who’s been following Tower Defense games for years, I’m thrilled to share my excitement about the latest addition to the game – “The Cannoneer,” the first original Tower Troop in the January 2024 update or Season 55. With a background in military history, I can’t help but appreciate the unique design of this character.

Gameplay

An Epic Rarity Card in Clash Royale is represented by The Cannoneer. He holds the distinction of being the game’s first Epic Tower Troop with this status. In terms of functionality, The Cannoneer’s shooting speed is relatively slow. However, his damage output is substantial, akin to that of the Tower Princess after a recent enhancement. There is also a possibility that he may unleash an area attack as he discharges Cannonballs.

In the Clash Universe games, the term “Cannon” is commonly used for defensive structures that attack ground units. However, it’s important to note that a Cannon can do more than just defend against ground forces. It is capable of taking out air units as well. This means you don’t need to fret about leaving your Tower Troops unprotected. Although the Cannon boasts impressive statistics, it falls short when compared to the Tower Princess. Sadly, it isn’t enough to handle the formidable Princess Legendary card.

Strategies

With a slower rate of attack and lower health points, this unit is powerful against decks focused on beatdown tactics due to its greater damage capacity. However, its weakness against spell cycling can hamper its performance in specific scenarios, such as when facing Graveyard spells. Additionally, the Canonneer may encounter difficulties versus swarm decks where fast-moving troops like Goblins, Barrels, and Skeleton Armies are common, as its sluggish attack speed puts it at a disadvantage.

Although it has some drawbacks, it shines when faced with individual enemies, like the Mega Minion. However, be wary of causing too much damage, as the Canonneer’s strong attacks could backfire, reducing its effectiveness against weaker opponents. Exercise caution and consider the situation carefully during gameplay.

As a long-time player of this strategic card game, I’ve come to appreciate the value of having a solid counter strategy for beatdown decks. The cannoneer is one such card that has proven effective in these situations. However, I must caution fellow players not to underestimate the challenges posed by swarm decks.

Well, I’ve had a chance to explore The Cannoneer Tower Troop in Clash Royale, and I must admit, it’s left me quite intrigued! As a long-time player of this game, I’ve seen my fair share of new card releases. Some have been underwhelming, while others have truly shaken up the meta. Based on my initial impressions, The Cannoneer Tower seems to fall into the latter category.
