If you notice distinct Battle Rewards within Clash Royale, take comfort in knowing there’s no issue with the game. Developer Supercell is currently experimenting with different reward configurations, which explains the variations in what you’re seeing.
Starting from August 26th, all players have been divided into five distinct teams, each boasting its own exclusive assortment and varying amount of rewards. These rewards may consist of Lucky Drops, Gold, or Chests.
The variety of prizes is quite intriguing. Have a peek at Group 1 – it offers four Lucky Drops along with extra Gold as its rewards. On the other hand, Group 5 presents four Chests, rather than Lucky Drops, and also additional Gold.

In some cases, both Group 1 and Group 4 possess identical inventory items. However, there are differences in their user interfaces (UI) and user experiences (UX). To clarify, Supercell stated that once all Lucky Drops have been claimed, Group 1 will display 4 checkboxes instead of the usual Gold or Crown icons.
As a devoted Clash Royale gamer, I’ve been noticing some changes in the game recently. Supercell seems to be experimenting openly, and they’ve shared that their goal is to figure out which rewards bring the most thrill and fun when earned. They’re counting on our community’s feedback to shape the future of Battle Rewards, making it even more rewarding for us players in the long run!
It’s unclear when the test will end.
How Has The Community Responded To The Battle Rewards Test?
Typically, the conversation about these tests is split, as seen in the comments section of the test announcement. Some players already have a preferred group for Battle Rewards, while others prefer Chests over Lucky Drops, and there are several who prefer additional Lucky Drops instead.
There’s been discussion within the community about how changes in Clash Royale could impact its progression system, particularly for free-to-play gamers. The new system might necessitate playing more battles to accrue Gold or spending money to potentially receive better rewards based on the Battle Reward Group you’re assigned to.
Regardless of the choice, it remains unclear at present what Supercell will do about this feedback concerning Battle Rewards and the future of Clash Royale. In time, we shall observe their response and subsequent actions.
