  • This season brings the Furnace rework alongside its evolution.

The beloved game, Clash Royale, is once again gracing our screens with a fresh new season! Dubbed as “Fired Up”, Season 74 introduces an exciting overhaul of the Furnace and a significant update to Card Evolution. Here’s everything you need to know about this thrilling new chapter in Clash Royale.

Clash Royale Season 74 ‘Fired Up’ August 2025 Update Overview

Furnace Revamp

After enduring much teasing for quite some time, the Furnace undergoes an extensive makeover. Rather than serving as a building that summons troops, it now functions as a ground troop capable of ranged attacks. Similar to its previous incarnation, it still requires 4 Elixir and continues to produce Fire Spirits. However, this redesign significantly alters the way the card is utilized in gameplay.

The Transformation of the Heater!

From an Unnoticed Structure to the Limelight – the Epic Saga of a Downcast King’s Rebirth

In this paraphrase, I have used “Heater” instead of “Furnace” for a more casual and easy-to-understand term. Also, I replaced “center stage” with “the Limelight,” which is another way to describe the main focus of attention, and “heroic tale” with “Epic Saga,” as it suggests a long and dramatic story about a significant event or character. Finally, “fallen Card’s second act” was changed to “Downcast King’s Rebirth” for clarity and to maintain the original meaning of going from a low state to a higher one.

Instead of the traditional passive gameplay, the revamped Furnace is now geared towards being more engaging and dynamic. It focuses on action by targeting individual air and ground units from a distance with its ranged attack, and every 5 seconds, it summons Fire Spirits.

Although Furnace may not surpass cards such as Musketeer or Wizard in terms of standout stats, it could excel in supportive roles during major offensives. Regardless, all prior advancements made with the card will be preserved, ensuring players don’t have to begin anew.

New Card Evolution: Furnace

In addition to being refurbished, the Furnace additionally gains the Card Evolution. The Evolved Furnace retains its initial base stats, but the real action lies in its unique ability, Hot Spawns. During an attack with the Evolved Furnace, it rapidly summons Fire Spirits at a pace of every 1.8 seconds instead of the standard 5 seconds.

The speed increase is approximately 2.8 times faster, significantly enhancing the damage inflicted by the Fire Spirit by a factor of 1.8. Notably, these spirits emerge from opposite sides – first from the left, then the right. The evolution event triggers every third time you use this card, meaning after two complete cycles.

Balance Changes for Season 74 in Merge Tactics

Here’s a full breakdown of the nerfs, buffs, and adjustments.

Nerfs

Archer Queen

  • Range: 5 → 4 (-20%)
  • Invisibility Duration: 3s → 2.5s (-17%)

The constant damage dealt by the Archer Queen, combined with her stealth ability that carries minimal risk, was overpowering. To balance this out, a modification has been made to introduce more potential risks when using her, as well as giving opponents additional strategies to counter her effectiveness.

P.E.K.K.A

  • Damage: 385 → 360 (-6%)

As a powerful tank dealing significant damage, she ruled the field. This small adjustment provides opportunities for other strong attackers to take center stage.

Knight

  • Hit Speed: 1.43 → 1.66 (-14%)

The knight’s dependability as an affordable tank tended to make him overly effective. A reduction in his attack speed would help create a more balanced character.

Ouch!

  • Damage Reflection: 50% → 40% (-20%)

The Modifier seemed excessively severe towards distant combat units. Decreasing its reflected damage will make it easier to handle.

Buffs

Spear Goblin

  • Damage: 132 → 156 (+18%)

A needed boost to help him stand out more in battle.

Bomber

  • Damage: 96 → 108 (+12%)

A bit of extra damage allows him to effectively deal with densely packed troops, taking advantage of his area-of-effect attack.

Mega Knight

  • Damage: 73 → 103 (+42%)

A big offensive boost so he can do more when allies go down and justify his 4-cost investment.

Brawler

  • 2/4 Bonus HP: 30% → 40% (+33%)
  • 4/4 Bonus HP: 60% → 80% (+33%)

Brawlers were falling short in tankiness. These buffs help them stay in the fight longer.

Undead

  • Bonus Damage: 20% → 30% (+50%)

Since their power takes time to ramp up, this buff rewards the payoff more.

Less is More

  • Bonus: 20% → 25% (+25%)

The Modifier now offers more incentive for players to build strategies around it.

Adjustments

Valkyrie

  • Hit Speed: 1.43 → 1.66 (-14%)
  • Damage: 116 → 127 (+10%)

To enhance the uniqueness of Valkyrie’s rhythm, we’ve slightly altered her pace, but her total damage output remains unchanged.

Skeleton King

  • Hit Speed: 1.66 → 2 (-17%)
  • Damage: 140 → 180 (+28%)

Skeleton King now feels more like a true powerhouse, with slower but harder-hitting attacks.

Goblin

  • Hit Speed: 0.71 → 0.66 (+7%)
  • Damage: 96 → 108 (+12%)
  • Hitpoints: 540 → 504 (-7%)

Less HP but more speed and damage solidify Goblin’s role as a fast single-target damage dealer.

Juggernaut

  • 2/4 Ally Shield: 15% → 20% (+33%)
  • 2/4 Self Shield: 30% → 20% (-33%)
  • 4/4 Ally Shield: 30% → 40% (+33%)
  • 4/4 Self Shield: 60% → 40% (-33%)

Making the numbers simpler and providing clearer explanations helps Juggernaut become more comprehensible and efficient for team games, as it enhances understanding among players.
