Clash Royale is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a major update launching in March 2026! While they’d previously given a sneak peek at the changes, the update is now live and includes exciting new features like two new Heroes, revamped Trophy Road Arenas, a new Social Tab, and other improvements.

Two New Heroes Join the Arena

As previously suggested, we’re introducing two new playable characters, and this is how the game will progress with them.

Hero Barbarian Barrel

Barbarian Barrel is joining the Arena as a complete Hero with a special ability called Rowdy Reroll. Using it sends him rushing down the lane again, giving you another opportunity to defeat enemies or attack towers. You’ll be able to unlock him through the Pass Royale.

Hero Magic Archer

A new Hero, Magic Archer, is joining the game with a special ability called Triple Threat. When used, he quickly moves backwards, creates a fake copy of himself, and fires three arrows with his next attack. The best part? You can get Hero Magic Archer for free by participating in the next Album Event! After the event, he’ll also be available through the regular summoning system when the new season starts.

New Event System: Albums

Okay, so the biggest news with this update is definitely the Album Event! Basically, you collect these things called Snippets – they’re little pieces of old Clash Royale moments from the past ten years. Each scene you want to complete needs nine Snippets, but once you finish it, you get some cool rewards!

You can earn snippets by participating in daily challenges, special events like Clan Voyage, and by visiting the Shop and checking out offers. If you collect all the snippets to complete the Album, you’ll win the Hero Magic Archer, a unique emote, and a special Tower Skin to celebrate our anniversary!

Okay, so even if I pull the same collectible piece twice, it still counts towards completing whatever I’m working on – there’s a system that makes sure every unique piece gets registered. And the cool thing is, even after I finish the main collection, I can keep earning more pieces. These extra ones turn into bonus rewards, which is awesome!

Trophy Road Extended

Trophy Road now goes up to 14,000 Trophies with the addition of four new Arenas! As you progress, you’ll find new rewards, including a 5-Star Lucky Chest and a 5-Star Evolution Box at the 14,000 Trophy mark.

Global Tournaments return with reworks

Global Tournaments are returning, and we’ve made a few changes! Now, you can join once you reach Arena 3, instead of needing a specific King Level. You’ll build your tournament deck using cards you’ve already collected, but those cards will be limited to level 11.

We’ve simplified how you earn rewards – gem bonuses are gone, and now you get them directly from winning games. Leaderboards have also been updated! You’ll see your percentile ranking if you’re outside the top 10,000 players, and your exact rank once you climb into the top 10,000. Making it into the top 1,000 will get you recognized in our Hall of Fame.

Deck Slot reduction goes live

The recent update includes a change to deck building, as the developers announced. Decks will now have one slot for Evolution cards, one for Hero cards, and one Wild Slot. The Wild Slot is flexible and can hold a Hero, Evolution, or Champion card. This applies to all game modes: Trophy Road, Ranked, and Challenges.
