All you need to know about the Clash Royale June 2025 update
New Game Mode: Merge Tactics
Indeed, following much anticipation for the release of Clash Mini as a mini-game within Clash Royale during the Summer of 2025, it appears that it’s not an exact match with our expectations.

In Clash Royale, Merge Tactics marks the introduction of their first turn-based game mode. This innovative mode merges survival gameplay with merge mechanics, offering a unique experience. Starting from Arena 3, it becomes available for players to engage in a competitive, 4-player free-for-all . In this battle royale-style game, you can summon two identical troops that will then merge into a stronger unit. The troops are strategically placed on a board, and elixir is employed to summon and enhance your units.
In this game, matches incorporate unique characteristics known as Traits that alter each encounter. Additionally, you select a Ruler prior to starting, who bestows ongoing advantages. Unlike traditional games where you construct a deck, all units are produced dynamically throughout the match. The objective is simply to persist longer than your adversary.
Trophy Road and Ranked Mode Overhaul
The length of Trophy Road has been expanded to accommodate a total of 10,000 trophies. At the 9,000 trophy mark, a new venue called Valkalla becomes accessible. The location of the Legendary Arena moves up to 9,500 trophies. Once you reach 10,000 trophies, you will enter the realm of Seasonal Arenas, which change every season and provide exclusive rewards and Seasonal Badges for advancement.

The game previously known as “Path of Legends” has been renamed to simply “Ranked“. You can gain access to this mode either by accumulating a total of 15,000 trophies on the Trophy Road or by achieving Master I in the Ranked mode during the previous season. Starting from August, access will need to be earned by reaching the “Champion League”.
Previously established leagues have been reduced for a swifter ascent. From 15,000 trophies onwards, trophy resets will now be partial, providing a more consistent progression throughout seasons. This alteration was essential after the Mastery Gem Reward update to ensure Gems are acquired through trophy advancements.
Rewards Distribution and Chest Changes
In the gaming world of Clash Royale, I’ve noticed a shift in how rewards are doled out lately. Now, Elite Wild Cards, which used to be a staple in my deck, are spread across various game modes. As before, I can still snag 25,000 from Ranked matches, but the Seasonal Arenas now offer 10,000, and Events have become a new source of 15,000 cards! It’s a fresh change that keeps me on my toes as I navigate through these different modes.
In Ranked matches, the gold rewards have been scaled down from 75,000 to 25,000. The remaining gold can now be obtained via Seasonal Arenas, where you can earn more gold by progressing through various stages within the game. As previously stated, Card Mastery rewards remain unchanged.

Upgrades have been made to the treasure chests for better visibility of the rewards:
Giant Treasure Chests now yield more Gold and a combination of Epic, Legendary, and Champion items, while excluding the Wild Cards. On the other hand, Magical Treasure Chests provide a greater number of cards and Gold, but fewer rare items.
Lightning Chests now award almost twice the Gold and cards compared to before, enabling you to reshuffle some of the cards using the Strike option. Previously occurring Wild Cards have been eliminated from these chests. But take note, Battle Rewards will only provide Gold as additional rewards from now on.
Season 73 updates: Spirit Empress and Skeleton Barrel Evolution
The new update introduces the “Spirit Empress,” an exceptional and legendary card that was once whispered to be a champion card. When played with 3 Elixir, she takes the form of a melee unit, dishing out potent single-target damage. However, if you hold off on spending 6 Elixir, she enters the fray atop a dragon, inflicting heavy damage from above.

In the upcoming update for the Skeleton Barrel, an evolution has been included. When this evolved version gets damaged, it discards its initial barrel and moves ahead while carrying a second one. This way, it can trigger two successive waves of skeletons. The new season, Season 73, is set to launch in the game on July 7, 2025.
Other Additional Updates
The updates include modifications to the badges and user interface (UI). The visual appearance of the badges has been improved for better clarity in terms of rarities and categories. Now, seasonal and yearly badges can be easily identified, while older ones remain visible but are categorized under new sections.
The “Events Tab” is no longer available. Instead, you can access all challenges and events directly through the revamped Game Mode Switcher. This change aims to make navigating between game modes smoother and more adaptable. The team plans to rotate and experiment with different event types based on community input.
