The latest update to Clash Royale adds the Vines card, bringing the total number of cards in the game to 125. These cards come in different rarities – Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Champion – but you don’t have access to them all at once. You begin with a small set of eight cards to create your initial deck, and you earn more cards by winning battles and advancing through the arenas, allowing you to build even more powerful decks.
Arena 12 in Clash Royale is a really fun stage with a lot of strong new cards. However, figuring out how to build a good, well-rounded deck can be challenging. To help you out, we’ve created a few balanced deck suggestions. Let’s take a look!
New Cards in Clash Royale’s Arena 12
As a huge fan, I’m so excited about Arena 12! They’re adding nine new cards, which is awesome, and two of them actually let you win the game in a totally new way. Plus, there’s one spell that looks incredibly strong. Here’s a sneak peek at what we’re getting!
Graveyard
The Graveyard spell costs 5 elixir and can be a powerful way to win battles. It’s most effective when used with a tank unit to protect the skeletons as they attack the enemy tower. Combining it with the Freeze spell can also significantly increase damage to the tower.
Royal Ghost
The Royal Ghost is a surprisingly powerful unit, costing only three elixir. It remains hidden until it attacks, giving it a significant advantage by often striking first. The evolved version of this unit was recently introduced, making it even more formidable.
Royal Ghost doesn’t trigger or affect other invisible units, such as another Royal Ghost, a Suspicious Bush, or a hidden Tesla.
Firecracker
The Firecracker costs three Elixir and can be a really frustrating card to defend against, particularly if your opponent lacks Arrows. It’s versatile enough to fit into a lot of different decks, and its upgraded version is even more difficult to counter.
Earthquake
Earthquake is a spell that costs three elixir. It’s best used to destroy buildings and briefly slow down enemy troops. It works really well in Hog Rider attack strategies because it can quickly eliminate buildings that are defending them. However, it isn’t very effective against troops themselves.
Wall Breakers
Wall Breakers are a surprisingly affordable and powerful card. They’re one of the least expensive ways to win a match. Costing only two elixir, even a single Wall Breaker reaching the tower can inflict significant damage. They work great in quick-playing decks and often make opponents overspend elixir trying to defend against them.
Goblin Demolisher
The Goblin Demolisher becomes available in Arena 12 and costs 4 elixir. It’s not a very common card and is best used in certain deck types, like those focused on Goblin Drill or the Miner. You won’t see it used much in other decks, as it has a low usage rate of only about 0.64%.
Ice Wizard
The Ice Wizard is a fantastic defensive card. For just three elixir, it slows down enemies – think of it as a longer-lasting, mobile Ice Spirit. It’s great for stopping large attacks, especially when combined with inexpensive troops like Skeletons and the Knight.
Phoenix
The Phoenix is a powerful Legendary troop that attacks both air and ground units. It was once very popular, but now the Baby Dragon is often preferred because it offers similar strength for the same cost. However, a well-timed Phoenix rebirth can still be a major disruption for opponents.
Electro Dragon
The Electro Dragon costs 5 elixir and is an Epic card. It attacks by chaining lightning between multiple enemies, making it effective against groups and for disabling Inferno Towers or Inferno Dragons. You’ll often find it used in decks focused around the Golem or PEKKA. While still useful, it’s significantly more powerful after being evolved.
Best Clash Royale Arena 12 Decks
Here are some of the best decks that you can use in the arena 12 of Clash Royale:
Hog EQ Deck
| Clash Royale Cards | Elixir Cost |
|---|---|
| Evo Firecracker | Three |
| Evo Cannon | Three |
| Valkyrie | Four |
| Ice Spirit | One |
| Skeletons | One |
| Earthquake | Three |
| Hog Rider | Four |
| Log | Two |
This deck is currently very popular and effective. It’s built entirely around using the Hog Rider to win games.
If you’re looking for strong evolutions, Evo Cannon and Evo Firecracker are your best options. Evo Valkyrie can work too, but Evo Cannon generally fits into most decks more effectively.
The Firecracker provides excellent support, and paired with the Hog Rider, it’s a really powerful combination. If your opponent tries to defend against your Hog Rider by placing a building, you can use Earthquake to destroy it quickly.
The average elixir cost of this deck is 2.6.
Evo Tesla Firecracker Hog Deck
| Clash Royale Cards | Elixir Cost |
|---|---|
| Evo Firecracker | Three |
| Evo Tesla | Four |
| Skeletons | One |
| Ice Spirit | One |
| Earthquake | Three |
| Log | Two |
| Hog Rider | Four |
| Mighty Miner | Four |
This deck plays a lot like the popular Hog EQ strategy, but instead of Valkyrie, it uses Mighty Miner.
For evolutions, you can go for Evo Tesla and Evo Firecracker.
This deck gives you better defense against strong opponents like PEKKA, Mega Knight, and Giant. The Evo Tesla is particularly effective at handling almost any attack. Otherwise, it plays very similarly to a typical Hog EQ deck.
The average elixir cost of this deck is 2.8.
Giant Skeleton Loon Freeze Deck
| Clash Royale Cards | Elixir Cost |
|---|---|
| Evo Skeleton Army | Three |
| Evo Bats | Two |
| Inferno Dragon | Four |
| Balloon | Five |
| Ice Wizard | Three |
| Freeze | Four |
| Giant Skeleton | Six |
| Arrows | Three |
I love this deck because it feels really solid all around! The Balloon is how I usually finish off my opponents, and the Giant Skeleton is amazing at soaking up damage and stopping enemy attacks. It’s a great combo!
For evolutions, you can go for Evo Skeleton Army and Evo Bats.
This deck focuses on defense with cards like the Ice Wizard, Skeleton Army, and Bats. The Inferno Dragon is especially strong against tough opponents, but they need to be prepared! For spells, while Freeze is common, the new Vines spell is a good, cheaper option that still offers a freezing effect.
The average elixir cost of this deck is 3.8.
Giant Graveyard Deck
| Clash Royale Cards | Elixir Cost |
|---|---|
| Evo Giant Snowball | Two |
| Evo Witch | Five |
| Bowler | Five |
| Minions | Three |
| Arrows | Three |
| Giant | Five |
| Graveyard | Five |
| Guards | Three |
This deck has become increasingly popular since the Witch received an upgrade. Even though she’s been slightly weakened a couple of times, she remains powerful when included in the right strategies, and this deck is a good example of that.
For evolutions, you can go for Evo Witch and Evo Giant Snowball.
For defense, use Guards, Minions, and Bowlers. On offense, a Giant combined with Graveyard is a powerful way to take down your opponent’s towers. Giant Snowball also works well with Graveyard.
The average elixir cost of this deck is 3.9.
Skeli Barrel Mega Knight Mini Pekka Deck
This deck is a little on the heavier side, but it’s generally very reliable. It has good responses to most of the common cards you’ll face as you climb the ladder. PEKKA and Mega Knight are popular choices at that level, and this deck does a good job against both of them.
For evolutions, you can use Baby Dragon and Mega Knight.
When facing a PEKKA in Clash Royale, players often use cards like Guards or Baby Dragon. If the opponent plays Mega Knight, Mini PEKKA is a more cost-effective counter. The main challenge with this deck is having only Arrows as a spell, so timing their use is crucial. While some players exchange Berserker for Valkyrie, I find Berserker preferable as it helps keep the deck’s elixir cost lower.
The average elixir cost of this deck is 3.6.
X-Bow Cycle With Mini PEKKA
This X-Bow cycle deck is a consistently strong choice, and it’s easy to understand why. Having two defensive buildings makes you feel very secure, and it’s even easier to defend if you’re also using Evolutionary Archers. The main difference from the original version of this deck is the replacement of the Knight with the Mini PEKKA.
For evolutions, you can use Archers and Tesla.
It’s generally best not to play your X-Bow too early in the game. Waiting until double elixir time allows you to really support it effectively. After placing your X-Bow, your main goal should be keeping it safe for as long as you can.
The average elixir cost of this deck is 3.1.
