Okay, so in Clash Royale, you basically level up by battling and climbing through arenas. The more matches I win, the more trophies I get, and once I hit a certain number, I unlock a new arena! The cool part is, each new arena also gives me new cards to build even stronger decks with. It’s a really satisfying loop!
Arena 8 in Clash Royale is where the competition really begins. You’ve probably built a strong deck by now, but you’ll encounter more skilled players with well-refined strategies. This can make progressing through Arena 8 challenging unless you adapt. This guide provides some well-rounded Clash Royale Arena 8 decks to help you climb the ranks and earn trophies more easily.
Arena 8 Cards in Clash Royale

Arena 8 is a thrilling stage because it introduces several strong new cards to your deck. Some of these include the Battle Healer, Giant Snowball, Ice Spirit, Giant Skeleton, Vines, Lightning, Freeze, and Ice Golem.
Players who reach Arena 8 in Clash Royale also gain access to the Cannoneer tower. While not as commonly used as the Princess tower, it can be a strong addition to the right deck. You’ll also receive a level 8 chest, which could contain gold, gems, or new cards. Let’s now explore the new cards unlocked at this arena.
Battle Healer

The Battle Healer is an uncommon card that costs four Elixir. She focuses on healing and only attacks ground troops. When she attacks, she restores health to herself and any friendly troops nearby, including those in the air.
She isn’t very strong at dealing damage and attacks rather slowly, so she’s not a good choice to be at the front of an attack. Players typically use her to support larger pushes, particularly those involving Elixir Golem or Golem card combinations.
Giant Snowball
Giant Snowball is a useful spell for many different strategies. It pushes back and slows down opposing troops, making it simpler to defend your base.
The Giant Snowball is a great way to stop Goblin Barrels and take out medium-health troops like Wizards and Musketeers. Players often choose it over The Log because it can hit both ground and air units. Plus, it’s cheap to use – only costing two Elixir – making it a versatile option in any battle.
Ice Spirit

The Ice Spirit is arguably the most effective spirit in Clash Royale. It’s incredibly cheap to deploy, costing just one elixir, yet provides significant benefits. When launched, it briefly freezes opponents in its landing area.
Ice Spirit is most effective when paired with troops like Musketeers or Skeletons. It can draw enemy units closer, freeze them briefly, and buy your towers and other troops valuable time to eliminate them. Additionally, it can reset the activation of certain cards, such as the X-Bow, Inferno Dragon, and Sparky.
Giant Skeleton

The Giant Skeleton is a powerful card that costs six elixir. It’s useful for both attacking and defending. Its biggest strength is the large explosion it creates when defeated, which can eliminate weaker or moderately strong troops like the Mother Witch or Magic Archer.
The Giant Skeleton is a strong defensive unit, damaging enemy troops with its attacks and dealing massive damage with its death bomb. However, it’s expensive to deploy, which limits how frequently players use it.
Vines

I remember when Vines first came out – everyone was worried it was way too powerful, and they were right! It was seriously strong. Supercell quickly adjusted it in the next update, but it’s still a really popular card in a lot of top decks. What makes it so good is that it freezes enemies for 2.5 seconds, and does enough damage to take out squishy units like the Dart Goblin or Firecracker.
Vines can only affect up to three enemy units at once. If more than three are nearby, it will target the ones with the most health. Many players find it useful during large attacks to surprise their opponents and maximize its impact.
Lightning
Lightning spells function similarly to Vines by focusing on the three enemy troops with the most health and inflicting significant damage. They are particularly effective against powerful units like Phoenixes, Wizards, Magic Archers, Night Witches, Ice Wizards, and Electro Wizards.
Lightning won’t fully counter shielded troops like Dark Prince or Guards—just their shields.
Lightning spells are most effective when used on groups of three or more troops clustered together, allowing you to quickly take them out.
Freeze
Freeze is a powerful spell card that costs four elixir. When used, it temporarily freezes all enemy troops and buildings within its area of effect for four seconds. It also deals a small amount of damage, enough to quickly eliminate weaker units like Skeletons, Bats, and Spear Goblins. While it freezes for a longer duration than the Vines spell, it does less damage, leading many players to favor Vines, which also costs one elixir less.
Ice Golem

The Ice Golem is a special card that moves slowly and focuses on attacking buildings. While it doesn’t deal a lot of damage by itself, it’s excellent for protecting your main attacking troops, like the Hog Rider or Balloon, by drawing enemy fire.
The Ice Golem is great for drawing enemy fire away from your other troops and buildings. When it’s defeated, it deals some damage and briefly slows down enemies, giving your attack a better chance of success.
Best Clash Royale Arena 8 Decks (Frozen Peak Decks)
Below, check out three Arena 8 decks to help dominate the competition.
Musk Loon Cycle

| Clash Royale Cards | Elixir Cost |
|---|---|
| Balloon | Five |
| Ice Golem | Two |
| Musketeer | Four |
| Minions | Three |
| Zap | Two |
| Fireball | Four |
| Tombstone | Three |
| Skeleton Army | Three |
| Average Elixir Cost: 3.3 | |
This is a popular take on the classic Musk Loon strategy. The original version relies on the Miner, but since you haven’t unlocked that card yet, this Balloon deck is the strongest option for players in Arena 8. The Balloon is how you’ll win games, so keeping it safe is crucial.
If your cards have evolved, consider using Evo Zap and Skeleton Army. If you haven’t evolved a Hero Musketeer, Evo Musketeer is a good alternative to Evo Zap.
This deck features a solid defense thanks to cards like Musketeer, Tombstone, and Minions. Adding the Hero Musketeer makes it even more powerful.
Hog Musk Zap 2.6

| Clash Royale Cards | Elixir Cost |
|---|---|
| Hog Rider | Four |
| Zap | Two |
| Musketeer | Four |
| Ice Spirit | One |
| Skeletons | One |
| Cannon | Three |
| Fireball | Four |
| Ice Golem | Two |
| Average Elixir Cost: 2.6 | |
The Hog 2.6 deck is a classic and popular choice in Clash Royale. If you haven’t unlocked The Log yet (which happens around Arena 8), you can substitute Zap instead. This deck is cheap to play, letting you quickly get back to your key cards – the Hog Rider and Musketeer. However, it’s important to think carefully about where you place your cards; simply playing them randomly won’t be effective.
If you have evolutions, you can choose Evo Musketeer and Ice Spirit.
You can also use Vines instead of Zap. While Vines are a bit more expensive, they generally perform better and can sometimes catch your opponent off guard.
PEKKA Evo Witch Baby Drag

| Clash Royale Cards | Elixir Cost |
|---|---|
| PEKKA | Seven |
| Witch | Five |
| Baby Dragon | Four |
| Battle Ram | Four |
| Fireball | Four |
| Electro Spirit | One |
| Zap | Two |
| Skeletons | One |
| Average Elixir Cost: 3.5 | |
This PEKKA deck is one of the best you’ll find for Arena 8. It relies on the Battle Ram to win games, and that same unit can also be used to defend your towers if necessary.
If you have evolutions, you can choose Evo Baby Dragon and Witch.
This deck includes powerful, but costly, cards like the PEKKA and Witch. However, it keeps the overall elixir cost low – averaging just 3.5 – with the help of inexpensive options like Electro Spirit, Zap, and Skeletons. Just be aware that the deck’s effectiveness is significantly reduced without the evolved versions of the Witch and Baby Dragon.
