Town Hall 18 has arrived in Clash of Clans, bringing a lot of exciting changes! Players can now enjoy a new defense, spell, and troop, which adds a fresh layer of strategy to the game. Figuring out the best ways to attack in both War and Farming modes will be key for Town Hall 18 players.
This guide explains the most effective attack strategies for both Clan War and resource farming at Town Hall 18. I’ll simplify everything so you can easily choose the right strategy for any situation.
Best War Strategies for Town Hall 18 in Clash of Clans
1. Dragons + Totem Combo
The new spell is powerful and should be part of your strategy. It works best when used with Dragons. The plan is to position your heroes to create a sort of barrier on either side, keeping the Dragons focused in the center.
After setting up the funnel, all Dragons, along with the Warden and Stone Slammer, are used as the siege attack. They move directly towards the core. This strategy relies heavily on Totem Spells, so they shouldn’t be swapped out.
These units draw enemy attacks, protecting your troops and allowing Dragons to destroy buildings with minimal damage. Save the Warden’s special ability for when you encounter a large cluster of defenses. Once you’ve created an initial opening, the attack is fairly straightforward.
3. Meteor Golem + Queen Walk
We’ve added another permanent troop to our Meteor Golem attack strategy, and we’re pairing it with a Queen Walk – a tactic that’s been working well for us. The Queen Walk is currently considered one of the most effective and simple strategies because its success depends on carefully planning the path for your main attack force.
Start by using your Queen Walk to clear out tough defenses and create an initial opening. Then, send in your King and the rest of your troops to push through that opening. Expand the funnel you’ve made, and deploy your Meteor Golem when it’s time to shield your heroes and keep them safe.
3. Super Yeti Attack strategy
A popular strategy for Town Hall 18 seems to be using Super Yetis. You can try two different approaches. One is a simple attack with about five Super Yetis, combined with either a Warden or Queen walk to create an opening for them.
Another approach is to use Meteor Golems again, but it means using fewer Healers. A good setup is to create a small funnel with two Yetis on each side and a Log Launcher – this is highly recommended – before deploying your Super and the Meteor Golems to finish clearing the base.
Both strategies rely on the same core spells: Totem and Invisibility. Totem spells are used to shield your troops when they come under heavy fire from defenses. Invisibility is then used either to protect your Heroes or to ensure your main attacking force survives, depending on the situation.
Best Farming Strategies for Town Hall 18 in Clash of Clans
We focus on raiding for resources, not competitive rankings. We’ve been using effective strategies even before the latest update to Clash of Clans (TH18), and here’s a simplified guide to maximizing your loot with different troop combinations.
1. Sneaky Goblin Farming Strategy
For maximizing the amount of resources you get per raid, Sneaky Goblins remain the best choice for farming. The strategy is straightforward: deploy them on every resource building – mines, pumps, drills, and storages – then use Super Wall Breakers or Jump Spells to open access and let the goblins collect everything.
This strategy doesn’t require strong troops, making it ideal while you’re improving your base. The main challenge is finding bases with good resources, as you might need to refresh the search a few times. However, once you start an attack, you can reliably collect a lot of gold and elixir in just one raid.
2. Mass Valkyrie + Earthquakes
This strategy is proving effective, as many players are noticing. It’s simple: deploy your Valkyries in a circle around the enemy base, use Earthquake spells to break open important defenses, and then let your troops finish the job to earn the league victory bonus.
This tactic works best in the higher leagues – Dragon, Titan, and Legends – because the extra rewards are significant, letting you collect more loot per hour than with most other strategies. Some players also use a variation where they only deploy half of their Valkyries.
This strategy focuses on taking advantage of the extra rewards given for high-level league play. By using a small number of troops in each battle, let your heroes do most of the work to reach the 50% damage threshold. Once you hit that mark, end the battle and immediately start a new one. This helps you conserve troops and attack frequently.
3. Air Trio Farming strategy
Here’s a simple and effective farming strategy for Town Hall 18 in Clash of Clans. It uses a combination of Dragon Riders, Balloons, and Electro Dragons – I call it the ‘Air Trio’ because it doesn’t have an official name. You can start by creating a funnel with your heroes, or just drop the troops directly, whichever you prefer.
Okay, so when I use Dragon Riders, they’re total tanks – they can really soak up a lot of damage. And Electro Dragons? They’re awesome at zapping through bases, taking out buildings and even hitting those hidden storages and collectors. Honestly, even if my attack isn’t perfect, those Dragons usually find their way to the loot without much trouble!
