Clash of Clans Town Hall 18: Best War and Farming Attack Strategies

Town Hall 18 has arrived in Clash of Clans, bringing a lot of exciting changes! Players now have a new defense, spell, and troop to consider, making strategy even more important. Figuring out the best ways to attack in both War and Farming modes is going to be key.

This guide will explain the most effective attack strategies for both Clan War and resource farming at Town Hall 18, presented in an easy-to-understand way so you can choose the right strategy for any situation.

Best War Strategies for Town Hall 18 in Clash of Clans

1. Dragons + Totem Combo

This new spell is really effective and should definitely be used. Combining it with the Dragons appears to be the best strategy. The plan is to position your heroes on either side, creating a kind of focused area that keeps the Dragons centered.

After setting up the funnel, all Dragons, along with the Warden and Stone Slammer, are deployed as the siege unit, allowing them to advance directly towards the core. This strategy relies heavily on Totem Spells, so they shouldn’t be substituted.

These units draw enemy attacks, protecting your troops and allowing Dragons to destroy buildings with minimal damage. Use the Warden’s special ability when facing the most dangerous cluster of defenses. Once you’ve created an initial opening, the rest is relatively simple.

3. Meteor Golem + Queen Walk

We’ve added another permanent troop to our attack strategy in Meteor Golem, and we’re combining it with the Queen Walk – a technique that’s been giving us great results. The Queen Walk is currently considered one of the most effective and simplest strategies because its success hinges on carefully planning the path for your main attack force.

Start by using your Queen Walk to remove key defenses and create an initial opening. Then, bring in your King and the rest of your troops to push through that opening and widen the path. Finally, deploy the Meteor Golem at the opportune moment to shield your heroes from additional damage.

3. Super Yeti Attack strategy

Using Super Yetis in Town Hall 18 is proving to be a very successful attack strategy. Here’s one way to try it: you can use either five Super Yetis with a Warden leading the charge, or five Super Yetis with a Queen walk, to create an opening in the base.

Another approach is to use Meteor Golems again, but you’ll have fewer Healers as a trade-off. Start by creating a small funnel with two Yetis on each side and the Log Launcher – this is a good setup. Then, deploy your Super version and the Meteor Golems to finish clearing the base.

Both strategies rely on the same core spell combination: Totem spells and Invisibility. Totem spells are deployed ahead of your army when strong defenses start attacking, and Invisibility is used to either shield your Heroes or keep your main attack force alive, depending on the situation.

Best Farming Strategies for Town Hall 18 in Clash of Clans

We focus on raiding for resources, not competitive rankings. We’ve been using effective farming strategies even before the latest update to Clash of Clans, and here’s a simplified approach using various troop combinations.

1. Sneaky Goblin Farming Strategy

For maximizing resource gains with each attack, Sneaky Goblins remain the most consistent strategy. It’s straightforward: deploy them on every resource building – mines, pumps, drills, and storages – then use Super Wall Breakers or Jump Spells to open access, allowing the goblins to collect everything inside.

This strategy doesn’t require strong troops, making it ideal while you’re improving your base. The main challenge is finding bases worth attacking – you might need to skip a few before you find one with good resources. But once you do, you can raid it safely and collect a huge amount of gold and elixir in a single attack.

2. Mass Valkyrie + Earthquakes

This strategy is proving effective, as many players have noticed. It’s simple: deploy Valkyries in a circle around the enemy base, use Earthquake spells to break through defenses, and then let your troops finish off the buildings to win the league bonus.

Okay, so I’ve found this strategy is really strong if you’re pushing up in the leagues – like Dragon, Titan, and even Legends. The extra loot you get is massive, honestly beating out almost everything else I’ve tried for farming. Some people also like to do a half-troop deployment using Valkyries, but this is my preferred method.

This strategy focuses on taking advantage of the rewards offered for high-level league performance. The key is to use a small number of troops in each battle, letting your heroes do most of the work to reach the 50% damage threshold. Once you hit 50%, immediately end the battle and start a new one. This saves your troops and lets you attack frequently.

3. Air Trio Farming strategy

Here’s a simple and effective farming strategy for Town Hall 18 in Clash of Clans. It uses a combination of Dragon Riders, Balloons, and Electro Dragons – I call it the ‘Air Trio’ because there isn’t a standard name for this combination. You can start by creating a funnel with your heroes, or just drop the troops directly, whichever you prefer.

Dragon Riders are very durable and can withstand a lot of attacks, while Electro Dragons quickly destroy structures and open up access to resources. Even if your base isn’t perfectly planned, these troops generally manage to reach and damage storages and collectors easily.
