Supercell has revealed its plans for Clash of Clans in May 2026, and the biggest updates will focus on improving Clan War Leagues. This area has been a priority for players, and Supercell is also planning changes to how players progress and experience in-game events. These updates follow several adjustments made to Ranked gameplay earlier this year.
Clash of Clans May 2026 plans and updates explained
New tiers for the CWL
Clan Wars League (CWL) is changing after the recent 5v5 update and expansion in March. Starting with the current May CWL season, new tiers – Titan and Legend leagues – have been added. If you’re a clan leader or co-leader, you’ve probably already noticed these additions.
We’re working to make finding matches and competing feel fairer, particularly for experienced players.
You might notice a small dip in your medal count if you’re a top player at first, but this is just the system verifying rewards aren’t being reduced. To make up for any potential early shortfall, an extra Clan War League event is planned to help you earn back any lost medals.
The change in events
Things are changing up a bit! Starting in May, not all players will experience the same events. If your village isn’t progressing quickly – perhaps your Builders are waiting or upgrades are taking a long time – you might receive additional events to help things along.
The game features daily rewards, a Treasure Hunt, and helpful boosts like quicker resource gathering or reduced upgrade costs. This system subtly encourages players to log in regularly, and it will be interesting to see how they respond to it.
Clan Events can sometimes vary between players. You might see slight differences in what events your clanmates have, or even extra events you don’t. This is because the game developers are testing different options – like event types, rewards, and how events are structured – to find out what players enjoy most.
Treasure Hunt and Dragon Duke event updates
We have a couple of updates for the May 2026 events! The popular Treasure Hunt will return near the end of the month, but it will only be available for players between Town Hall 3 and Town Hall 16. Players with higher or lower Town Halls won’t be able to participate this time.
We’ve also made a change to the Dragon Duke event. Now, you can use the Dragon Duke at his full power even while he’s being upgraded. This means you won’t have to interrupt his upgrades just to use him in battles. You’ll get the fully powered Hero right away, and many players are finding this one of the most enjoyable updates this month.
