Clash of Clans removes the Troop, Spell, and Siege Machine Training time

Story Highlights

  • Troop, spell, and siege machine training times will be removed in the CoC March 2025 update.
  • A new server tech Match Anytime system will introduce snapshot bases.
  • Clan Castle donations will require Elixir or Dark Elixir from now.

In the grand celebration of its 13th anniversary, Clash of Clans unveils an exciting revelation. A significant transformation is on the horizon with the March 2025 update, as they will be eliminating the training time for all troops, spells, and siege machines in the game.

To mark 13 years since the launch of Clash of Clans, its creators have opted to eliminate outdated waiting periods as part of an effort to bring the game into the modern era. This move mirrors the removal of training costs that occurred in 2022. Consequently, troops will now be prepared immediately, but there are conditions attached.

Titan League and lower players can attack instantly, and heroes recover immediately

In the Titan League and lower divisions, there’ll be no more delays between attacks, and characters won’t require recovery time anymore. Essentially, you can keep on fighting without any restrictions due to cooldown periods. But remember, the Legend League will continue to enforce its daily cap of eight battles for the moment.

With this update, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in consecutive battles, which should enhance your understanding of battle mechanics and expedite your advancement during the initial Town Hall stages. To alleviate any matchmaking issues, a fresh system called “Match Anytime” will be implemented, featuring something called “snapshot bases.“.

These replicas function as genuine player fortresses, protected by a defensive barrier. This ensures that attackable bases are always available, while the resources and trophies of defenders remain secure. This technology has previously been employed in Clan Wars and Legend League but will now be extended to multiplayer fights as well.

Training Potions and Perks will be phased out with new benefits arriving

Training Potions and Treats will no longer be available for purchase within the app or found in chests, as they’ll be phased out from the game after the removal of training time. Since these potions won’t be needed once the update is live, it’s recommended to use them up before the end of this month. Any unused potions will then be automatically converted into Gems.

In the future, the bonus you get from training (referred to as the Training Perk) within the Gold Pass will no longer increase base training time, but instead it will decrease the waiting period for Clan Castle requests. Additionally, a significant modification is being made by incorporating resource-based donations into the system.

Now, contributing troops will necessitate either Elixir or Dark Elixir, based on the type of troop, rather than drawing from your current army. Furthermore, the Clan Castle request timer has been standardized at 10 minutes for all players, with Gold Pass holders enjoying even shorter wait times.

To keep trophies meaningful by avoiding trophy bloat due to endless battles, we’ll tweak the reward system for winning matches. The most significant cuts will be made for one-star victories. Our team will observe your gameplay advancement and make necessary adjustments to these values over time.

Currently, Legend League maintains its daily limit of eight battles, but a future update slated for later this year might broaden this system. The anticipated March 2025 update is scheduled to release soon, and previews and sneak peeks will be shared in the upcoming weeks. Stay tuned for more information on this development.
