The Meteor Golem is a powerful troop unlocked at Town Hall 17 when your Barracks reaches Level 19. This troop attacks from a distance and is proving to be a tough opponent for defenders.
Its in-game description is as follows:
From the cosmos, to your army! This lob-loving duo will throw themselves at anything for up-close damage. When separated, Meteormites will attack nearby targets or find a friend to form a Meteor Golem!
The Meteor Golem was originally a limited-time troop in Clash of Clans during a special event called the Cosmic Rock Medal Event. Because players loved it so much, it became a regular troop after the game was updated to include Town Hall 18.

How the Meteor Golem Works in Clash of Clans
The Meteor Golem is a unique troop that effectively acts as two units in one. It can split in half, launching one piece – called a Meteormite – at enemies from up to 5 tiles away. When it hits, the Meteormite deals damage to a small area, affecting both ground and air targets.
Once split, the two parts of the Meteor Golem can either attack nearby enemies or combine back together – with their original partner or a part from another Golem – to reform a single unit. When they rejoin, the Golem becomes briefly invulnerable before repeating this splitting and attacking process.
When the two Meteormites combine to reform the Meteor Golem, its total health will be based on how much health each Meteormite currently has. Keep in mind that you can’t combine cloned Meteor Golems with each other.
The Meteor Golem is a special troop that’s really effective at getting past strong enemy defenses. It launches Meteormites that fly over walls and also does extra damage to buildings clustered together.

The Meteor Golem comes in three levels, and each level makes it stronger with increased health and damage.
