A new event is coming to Clash of Clans, and it’s bringing a frosty twist! Get ready for temporary winter-themed troops, unique spells, and brand-new Hero Equipment to power up your Royal Champion.

Clash of Clans ‘Meltdown Mayhem’ December 2025 Event: All you need to know

The event takes place from December 8th to December 29th, 2025, and is open to players at Town Hall 7 or higher. When you first log in, a quick tutorial will explain that a frozen meteor has caused fire mites to take shelter inside your Gold Storages.

You’ll help by gathering Sleepy Mites, which are used to earn rewards and unlock Ember Medals for the Trader Shop. You can get free mites daily from the event building, and it also lets you track your progress.

Event Progression

You primarily earn Sleepy Mites by raiding Gold Storages during battles. When you destroy a Gold Storage, it releases a small poison cloud, but this cloud doesn’t do much damage and won’t slow down your troops. You can collect these mites in all sorts of battles – regular fights, ranked matches, and even when you get revenge attacks.

So, during this event, my army gets these cool Ice Golems and Ice Minions automatically when I’m fighting normally. That’s awesome because it lets me use the Santa Surprise Spell right away, which is new for the event. The more points I earn, the more temporary units I unlock – it’s a great way to power up my forces!

  • 1,000 points: Ice Wizard
  • 2,500 points: Ice Hound
  • 4,000 points: Bag of Frost Mites spell
  • 6,250 points: Ice Minion unlock

Event Rewards

The Meltdown Mayhem event has great rewards for all players, whether you’re playing for free or have purchased the event pass. Completing all the event challenges will earn you 4,115 Ember Medals. If you buy the event pass, you’ll get even more – an extra 5,500 medals, plus 600 Glowy Ore and 80 Starry Ore, which are only available to pass holders.

So, I checked out the Trader Shop, and you can trade in those Ember Medals for cool stuff like gear, ores, and decorations for my base. They’ve got a new item this time – the Frost Flake – which looks awesome. But it’s not just new stuff; they brought back some older favorites too, like the Magic Mirror, Spiky Ball, Dark Crown, and even the Lavaloon Puppet! Definitely worth checking out if you’ve been saving up your medals.

New Active Hero Equipment: Frost Flake

We highly recommend Frost Flake. It’s a powerful new piece of equipment – an Epic Hero item – specifically for the Royal Champion. When activated, it allows her to throw freezing flakes that immediately disable enemy defenses. Even at its base level, it completely freezes whatever it hits, and the freezing effect gets stronger as you improve the item.

When fully upgraded, Frost Flake can freeze enemies for seven seconds – longer than a standard Freeze Spell – and even activate Invisibility Spell Towers.
