I’ve been playing Clash of Clans for ages – it’s a classic base-building and battling game made by Supercell Games. They keep things interesting with constant updates, which is awesome. But did you know there’s a separate version just for players in China? It’s published by Tencent Games, and I was curious how to get it. Tencent took over the distribution duties of Clash of Clans last year

Supercell previously had a special version of the game for players in China, which was required due to Chinese government regulations. Until November 4th, 2022, Beijing Lexiang Ark Game Technology Co Ltd handled the game’s distribution. After their contract ended, Tencent Games became responsible for publishing the game in China.

The Chinese and international versions of the game are fundamentally the same, but there are some differences. Certain cosmetic items, like the pirate flag, have been removed. The way spells and leagues are displayed also varies in the Chinese version. Additionally, many skins and card images have been altered due to censorship.

Here are the steps to download the game on Android.

  • The game can be downloaded via the Haoyou Kuaidao app store. However, you shall need the App Client to download Clash of Clans in case you are using the link. You can get it from the link beside the Haoyou Kuaidao logo.
  • Players should head to the Haoyou Kuaidao app store to get the Chinese Version of the game and search for Clash of Clans. You can check the store page here.
  • On the store page, you can see the Download option. Click on it.
  • If you are using the website page, a QR link will pop up, where you shall need the client app to scan to download the game. It will start downloading the game.
  • Install the game. You will get an option to link/bind your account, which you can do with the QQ/WeChat account.
