As a seasoned player of Clash of Clans with years of experience under my belt, I’ve seen it all when it comes to gathering Ores for Hero Equipment upgrades. From losing wars and scavenging for leftovers, to trading with fellow clansmen and spending hard-earned gems, every method has its pros and cons.
In the latest update of Clash of Clans, rolled out in December 2023, there are numerous exciting additions. The long-awaited Town Hall 16 has undeniably been a topic of much discussion. However, what truly piqued my interest was the introduction of the Hero Equipment feature. Surprisingly, this wasn’t on most players’ radars. With this update, your Clash of Clans heroes will now be able to use multiple abilities. To equip these newfound powers, you’ll require a resource called Ores. In this comprehensive guide, I will showcase various methods for collecting Ores in Clash of Clans.
Clash of Clans Hero Equipment Ores
Introduction
To enhance the capabilities of your Hero Equipment, you’ll require certain resources. Just like you use Gold and Elixir for upgrading buildings and troops, you can utilize Ores for enhancing the unique abilities of your heroes.
Types of Ores
Currently, we have three types of Ores in CoC.
Shiny Ore
Begin your Hero Equipment enhancement process using the widely available resource, referred to as “Shiny Ore.” This mineral is valuable for all levels, suitable for upgrading both common and epic equipment. Its acquisition is the simplest among the options.
Glowy Ore
Upgrade your gear more effectively using the uncommon yet beneficial Glowing Ores. These resources are perfect for boosting the performance of both common and epic hero equipment, occupying a middle ground in terms of scarcity.
Starry Ore
To take your Epic Equipment to new heights, make use of the scarcest mineral: Starry Ore. This valuable commodity plays a crucial role in surpassing certain levels for your Epic gear, yet it’s not applicable to upgrading Common Equipment.
How to collect Clash of Clans Hero Equipment Ores
After introducing the topic, let’s explore how to gather Ores in Clash of Clans to make your heroes powerful.
1. Home Village Star Bonus
In my perspective, this is the primary method to gather ores in Clash of Clans. Bonuses are typically where you’ll find an abundance of resources, and now ores are being added to that list. Unfortunately, Starry Ore won’t be included in this, but for upgrading your common equipment, there’s more than enough.
Here’s the maximum number of Ores you can receive with the Star Bonus respective of each League tier. The higher your League is, the better the resource rewards.

2. Clan Wars
At Clan Wars, you now have an opportunity to collect abundant Ores. Similar to resources you acquire during battles, Ores will also be up for grabs when you engage in warfare. You can obtain all three types of Ores here. However, to earn Starry Ores, you must be a Town Hall level 10 or above.
Based on my extensive military background and experiences in commanding troops during wartime, I can tell you that the difference between losing and winning a war is vast and significant. The table below illustrates this point by outlining the reward distributions for each scenario.

Based on my personal experience, I’ve come to understand that the figures I provide are not set in stone. The values within these numbers can fluctuate significantly depending on a multitude of factors. For instance, in my line of work as a logistics manager, the weight of cargo during wartime can have a profound impact on transportation costs and routes taken. Thus, it’s essential to remain flexible and adaptable when dealing with such numbers.
3. The Trader
The Trader provides an opportunity for you to acquire Ores. Currently, he not only deals Gems and Clan Capital Raid Medals in exchange, but also hero equipment resources. New deals may emerge each week.
4. The in-game Shop
After that, you have the option to buy Ores at the in-game marketplace. Look out for special deals on Clash of Clans ores before making your purchase.
Based on my own gaming experience, this guide covers all the essential information we currently have about obtaining various Ore types in the game. However, I’ve learned from past experiences that new Hero Equipments often bring along new Ores and methods to acquire them.
