Following days of player frustration, marked by complaints, online memes, and even petitions, Clash of Clans has responded to the issues with the Builder Base Bonanza and Mass Troops events.

Supercell officially explained that the recent missing in-game events were part of a test to see how different players reacted. Some players saw the events, while others didn’t. Supercell has assured everyone who missed them that both events will be available to all players in June 2026.

Following huge community backlash, Supercell admits communication could have been better

The announcement follows strong criticism from players, with many feeling excluded while others were having a great experience with a recent Builder Base event. This event, called Builder Base Bonanza, is similar to the popular Hammer Jam event, but for Builder Base.

From May 17th to May 31st, 2026, this event will significantly speed up your progress! Building upgrades, hero improvements, wall reinforcements, and Star Laboratory research will all cost 50% less and take half the time. Plus, you’ll earn 4x the Stars and can complete special tasks for even more rewards.

The event went smoothly and was especially welcome for players who didn’t enjoy Builder Base. However, some players quickly discovered the event wasn’t showing up in their games, which caused a problem.

Social media, particularly Reddit, quickly filled with frustration. People reacted in various ways – some made fun of the situation, others joked about the game being used for testing purchases, many criticized the planning, and some even started a petition demanding changes to how the game is managed and how players spend money.

One player shared that they spent money getting ready for the Builder Base Bonanza event, only to discover they were part of a test group that wasn’t meant to participate. They were very upset, calling the situation “unacceptable” and even thought about stopping playing and asking for their money back. Supercell’s recent update helped ease their frustration somewhat.

Supercell acknowledged they could have communicated about the recent tests more clearly. Fortunately, players who weren’t initially included will still be able to participate in the Builder Base Bonanza event in June.
