Clash of Clans Auto-Upgrade: How It Works & When It Happens
In the world of Clash of Clans, enhancing structures or troops is crucial. The level at which these elements are improved significantly impacts their effectiveness in battles. Generally, you’ll use resources like Gold, Elixir, and Dark Elixir to fund these enhancements.
Currently, there’s an underutilized function called ‘Automatic Upgrade.’ This handy feature will automatically level up your Troops, Spells, Defenses, Buildings, and Walls in your Main Base without requiring any of your precious resources for the process.
This feature within the game, often referred to as a “quality-of-life improvement,” is designed to assist players who’ve taken a break from the game for an extended period. It helps them regain ground by catching up on necessary upgrades or changes that have significantly altered the game environment in Clash of Clans.
When Does Auto-Upgrade Happen in Clash of Clans?
After approximately 90 days without any activity on your account, which is defined as not logging in at all within this period, auto-upgrades typically occur. This process happens automatically and cannot be initiated manually.
Remember, auto-upgrades are limited to one time per year to ensure players aren’t able to exploit the system and rapidly enhance their Home Villages at an unfair rate.
When I hop back into my Clash of Clans world, there’s a friendly notice waiting for me about the Buildings and Troops that got an upgrade while I was offline.
To prevent losing your progress in “Clash of Clans” if you decide to uninstall the game during an extended absence, it’s a good idea to link your account with a Supercell ID. This way, your game data will be secure and you can pick up where you left off when you return.
What Gets Upgraded with Auto-Upgrade?
In your home village, both buildings and troops can automatically improve using an automatic upgrade system. Here’s what gets enhanced:
1. Buildings
2. Troops
This way, everything within the village progresses without you having to manually upgrade each one individually.
- Base Defenses
- Resource Collection Buildings
- Troop, Spell, and Siege Machine Buildings
- Troops (both Elixir and Dark Elixir)
- Walls
- Other Buildings, such as the Laboratory and Hero Hall
In summary, most elements in the game can be enhanced, excluding Heroes, but it’s important to note that not every Troop or Building will definitely reach its highest level during the upgrade process. Typically, lower-level items are the ones that get upgraded.
Additionally, keep in mind that the auto-upgrade function does not take care of updating or constructing newly introduced Buildings on its own. For instance, when a new Base Defense is included with an upgrade to your Town Hall, it won’t be built and upgraded without your direct action.
In simpler terms, auto-upgrade serves as a way to help players catch up on any missed progress when they return to the game. However, it’s not a replacement for regular upgrading and shouldn’t be used to rush through town halls excessively.
