Clash of Clans announce reverting the September 2024 Gold Pass reward to Hero skin

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent on Clash of Clans and other mobile games, I must say it’s refreshing to see Supercell listen to their community and make adjustments based on feedback. It’s not every day we witness such responsiveness from game developers, especially when it comes to reverting unpopular decisions.

After four days since the September 2024 Gold Pass was delivered, we’ve received some good news at last. Clash of Clans has decided to revert the September 2024 Gold Pass reward back to a Hero skin, and they will now be introducing the Grand Warden TableTopRPG skin instead

Previously in the game’s current season, Supercell disclosed an unexpected decision to add a new cosmetic item to the premium tier, justifying it as a move that would make the item “equally accessible and applicable for all players”. Needless to say, this was a questionable choice on their part and sparked strong reactions within the gaming community due to the replacement of the Hero skin from the Gold Pass with the Decisive Dice Decorations

In response to player concerns, Clash of Clans acknowledged and addressed issues with the Decoration storage system, which offered no additional value and was priced the same as the previous pass. Taking their community’s feedback into account, Supercell decided to reverse this change, bringing back the Hero skin for the September Gold Pass. As a result, the TTRPG Grand Warden skin will now be accessible at the end of the premium track

After the announcement, players responded positively to Supercell’s decision to reverse the alteration in the Gold Pass. Many expressed feelings of relief and gratitude towards the developers for taking their feedback into account. Some even praised the decision as a “well-made choice,” while others noted that it is uncommon for a game developer to act on community suggestions and make the necessary changes

Furthermore, the Gold Pass in the upcoming months will showcase unique seasonal outfits exclusively. Supercell has also promised to keep players informed about any future Gold Pass modifications and engage in a more open dialogue regarding these changes. As a kind gesture, they are adding 20 Starry Ores to everyone on the free tier of the Gold Pass
