Harriet Cowan, a well-known figure on Clarkson’s Farm, recently announced that she’s left her nursing profession behind, as her burgeoning new career is thriving.
In the fourth season, the charming young farmhand, aged 24, captivated audiences by stepping into the spotlight at Diddly Squat Farm. This was during a time when Jeremy Clarkson’s regular hand, Kaleb Cooper, was absent.
And now, Harriet has revealed she’s got the ‘bug’ for agriculture, making it her sole career.
In the latest Instagram posts, Harriet appeared elegant while wearing a vibrant yellow mini-dress; afterwards, she returned to her farming duties, getting her hands muddy once again.
Over the last several years, Harriet has been juggling two careers. She shared that prior to donning her farm attire, she was putting in extensive hours as a nurse. Now, she shifts gears to attend to the land and livestock at her family’s property.
Currently, the temporary farmworker filling in for Caleb Kooper at Diddly Squat Farm is dedicating her efforts exclusively to agricultural pursuits.
Harriet, hailing from Belper, Derbyshire, has also shared her plans to embark on a new professional journey by launching a YouTube career through her channel titled ‘Harriet On The Farm’.
Harriet shared that the secret seems to have been revealed, as she has developed a condition known as “having caught the bug”, which means she is no longer nursing.

Harriet plays a significant role within her countryside community, a place that was initially part of her family since the 1950s, when her grandparents purchased the land where her father continues to farm today.
When Harriet isn’t busy managing Jeremy, she spends her time working on a cattle farm together with her partner, James, which is only a brief journey away from their family farm.
Before she teamed up with Jeremy, Harriet was well-known in the farming community on TikTok. She had approximately 40,000 followers before she became a part of the Diddly Squat crew.
More recently, she shared with The Times that she is frequently contacted by parents, who mention their daughters expressing an interest in agriculture, saying something like: “Parents are often approaching me these days because their daughters want to pursue a career in farming.
‘Or I hear about four-year-old girls who want a toy tractor for Christmas, so that’s really nice.’

Harriet’s supporters often praise her for maintaining a feminine image, even as a farmer. However, during an interview with The Times, she spoke candidly about the struggles she faces as a young woman in her profession.
She mentioned that if there was no male heir, her father had indicated that she and her sister would need to take on more responsibility.
Harriet also mentioned her enthusiasm for demonstrating that farming is not exclusive to men, and she intends to share experiences from her family farm through YouTube videos.
In May, the fourth season of Clarkson’s Farm became available on Prime Video, where audiences were first introduced to Harriet.
