Claire Sweeney is set to divide fans as she puts her Christmas tree up a month early

Claire Sweeney surprised some people by putting up her Christmas tree unusually early – on November 1st! She shared the news on Friday.

The 54-year-old actress, known for her role on Brookside, shared some fun photos on Instagram of her beautifully decorated Christmas tree, which features red and gold ornaments.

Claire decorated her living room mantlepiece with several red ornaments and ribbons, displaying them under the TV.

She announced on social media that she was putting up her Christmas tree now that the holiday ads had started, and thanked @Maddisonjcreations for making her tree look beautiful.

Claire wasted no time despite being still 48 days away from Christmas.

This decision will likely cause disagreement among fans, as people usually decorate Christmas trees in late November or early December.

A lot of people wait until mid-December to get a real Christmas tree, which helps keep it fresh and prevents needles from falling before Christmas.

Some people who really love the holidays believe it’s okay to decorate with a Christmas tree starting November 1st.

This follows Claire’s recent remembrance of her former boyfriend, Ricky Hatton, who passed away last month, marking what would have been his 47th birthday.

She shared a photo of the boxer on Instagram and wished him a happy birthday with a prayer and a heart emoji.

Former boxing champion Ricky Hatton was found dead at his home in Hyde, Greater Manchester, on September 14th. His friend and manager, Paul Speak, discovered him.

Claire and Ricky began dating in early 2024 after appearing on the TV show Dancing On Ice, but they decided to stay friends when their romantic relationship ended.

It’s obvious she still thinks about him often, as Claire recently mentioned Ricky on Instagram while shopping with her 13-year-old son, Jaxon.

The pair were captivated by an Only Fools and Horses toy that recreated a famous scene from the show. The toy featured a Del Boy figure falling through a bar, just like in the episode starring David Jason that originally aired in 1989.

‘Ricky would love that,’ Claire said.

The popular boxer passed away only three months before he was scheduled to fight again in Dubai as a professional.

Police aren’t investigating his death as suspicious, and his funeral took place at Manchester Cathedral on October 10th.

Claire paid tribute to Ricky a few days after his death.

The actress shared a video tribute set to Elvis Presley’s ‘If I Can Dream,’ explaining she needed some time to come to terms with the sad news about her close friend, Ricky.

Claire expressed her sympathy to his family, particularly his children – Campbell, Millie Fearne, and Lyla – and his granddaughter.

I’m so sorry to hear about Speaky. To him and all who loved him, please accept my heartfelt condolences. Ricky, you were truly loved by everyone – we adored and cherished you, and will always remember you fondly.
