Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy Make $3M Profit Selling NYC Home!

Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy‘s longtime New York City townhouse has sold for nearly $10 million.

Last summer, I just couldn’t keep the excitement contained when I learned that my beloved 45-year-old actress from Fleishman Is In Trouble and her dashing 40-year-old actor spouse were putting their stunning West Village abode up for sale, a jaw-dropping $9.75 million asking price!

Per the Wall Street Journal, the new owner scooped up the place for $9.9 million.

In the year 2009, they got married and later had three children – a 12-year-old named Cyrus, a 6-year-old named Rowan, and a daughter who is 19 months old.

In 2012, when Claire was expecting their first child, the affectionate couple bought a property worth $6.9 million, which they fondly refer to as their “love nest.

Last summer, it was reported by The New York Times that the pair was on the hunt for a bigger home to comfortably house their family and dear ones.

Based on what Tamer Howard, their real estate agent, has shared, it appears that the family of five will continue residing within the city center, specifically in New York City (the Big Apple).

‘Howard reflected that it’s remarkably updated yet maintains the authentic West Village character. It’s an enchanting, joyful, and unique location.’

This residence spans an area of approximately 3,890 square feet, featuring four bedrooms, four complete bathrooms, and boasts three exterior spaces for enjoyment.

The townhouse, erected in the 1880s, has four floors and rooftop access.

On the first floor there is a powder room, coat closet, and mudroom, People reported this week.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’d be thrilled to share a fantastic feature that adds both functionality and style to your living space: a home office equipped with floor-to-ceiling sliding doors for ultimate privacy. These doors not only create a serene workspace but also blend seamlessly with the rest of your home design.

The kitchen and dining zones are directly connected to the living room, boasting a fireplace and lofty 11-foot high ceilings.

Furthermore, the kitchen boasts heated flooring, automated shades, and a sliding glass wall that opens onto a terrace.

According to the report, the kitchen’s ceiling has been changed into glass blocks, which double as the floor for the upper terrace as well.

In his description for the listing, Howard mentioned that as soon as you step inside, you’ll find yourself captivated by the authentic allure of Claire and Hugh’s home, which has been skillfully enhanced with contemporary improvements.

As someone who spent my formative years in captivating loft spaces, I couldn’t help but crave that same ambiance for my own home – a passion that was understood and shared by Joan Krevlin, a founding partner at BKSK Architects, when she assisted me in realizing this dream.

According to the architect, the dwelling they decided on was a townhouse, yet it held significant features resembling a loft space, which she found crucial.

The abode earned an American Architecture Prize for Interior Design, according to the listing.

Fresh arrivals can look forward to an abundance of sunshine, along with proximity to three highly sought-after Manhattan districts – the West Village, Greenwich Village, and SoHo.

The charming residence boasts a dark-wooden exterior and a vivid red front door, opening up to a brick row house inside.

The inside, which has a base of mostly white walls and natural-toned furniture, is bright and airy.

In the spacious master bathroom, you’ll find a cozy fireplace, a luxurious stand-alone bathtub, a comfortable seating area, and an expansive vanity with a sink.

Among the rooftop spaces, there’s one equipped with a compact barbecue, a spacious countertop featuring an integrated refrigerator, and a washbasin – perfect for hosting gatherings.

There is also a basement containing a large closet, laundry room, and a wine cellar.
