Cillian Murphy’s lookalike son Aran, 17, lands role in major new HBO series alongside Sienna Miller as A-list nepo baby hopes to emulate his Oscar-winning father’s success

Cillian Murphy’s son, Aran, is starting his acting career with a part in a high-profile TV series, just like his Oscar-winning father.

Seventeen-year-old Aran is now part of the cast of “WAR,” the new series coming to HBO and Sky, alongside stars Dominic West and Sienna Miller.

The Lisa Richards Agency, a Dublin talent agency representing the young star, revealed the exciting news on Instagram. They shared a photo of him that shows a striking resemblance to his well-known father.

Before ‘War,’ Aran had already been building his acting career. He recently finished filming his first feature film, ‘Klara And The Sun,’ directed by Taika Waititi.

Last year, it was revealed he’d be appearing in the next film by the director of Thor, based on the popular novel by Kazuo Ishiguro.

I’m so excited! Another amazing actor has joined the cast of this movie, alongside Jenna Ortega, Steve Buscemi, and Amy Adams. It’s shaping up to be incredible, and I can’t wait until it comes out in 2026!

Aran has connections to influential people, including Taylor Swift, who recently shared a story about meeting him and his brother at an awards show.

Cillian Murphy, age 49, and his family encountered Taylor Swift at an Oscars party. More recently, Taylor spotted Cillian’s son while he was in the audience during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show and went over to say hello.

Cillian recently shared a story about a chance encounter he had at a party. He was there with his entire group of friends and family, including his children, who he jokingly admitted were probably too young to be there.

Taylor responded, saying she wasn’t sure, but she thoroughly enjoyed meeting my sons. She believes they’re bright and promising young people, and was really impressed by how well they could carry on a conversation – both engaging and genuinely interested in others. She called that a remarkable quality.

Greta Lee asked, “Are they here?” Cillian responded, “One of them is, Aran. Wait, where is he? Maybe he’s not here after all.”

Aran was actually in the audience, and Taylor spotted him right away. Recognizing the strong family resemblance to his father, she playfully pointed him out to everyone, exclaiming, ‘There he is, you can definitely see it!’

Host Graham Norton laughed, as he added: ‘Oh my god he is so Cillian Murphy style.

‘If this was a game show we’ve all just won a prize.’

Cillian and his family have moved to Dublin, reportedly spending almost £1.7 million on a Victorian house.

This six-bedroom house, originally constructed in 1863, is in south County Dublin and includes four living rooms.

Although the family now lives in Ireland, their sons were born and raised in London until 2015. The actor playfully said they moved to avoid their sons developing overly refined English accents.

I spent a wonderful 14 years living in London – that’s where we welcomed both of our children into the world! We finally made the move back to Dublin in 2015, and it’s felt like home ever since.

Many Irish people experience a similar pattern: they leave home to pursue opportunities elsewhere, and then eventually return. It’s a pretty typical life story for those with Irish roots.

Honestly, it just bothered me so much that my kids, who were starting to become teenagers, had these really fancy English accents! I desperately wanted them to connect with their Irish heritage, you know? And with my parents getting older, it felt like the perfect time to bring everyone back home – a chance for them to really be Irish, and for us all to be together.

Aran is focused on acting, while his older brother Malachy, who is 18, has developed a love for music – something their father supports.
