As the much-anticipated premiere of “28 Years Later” approaches this week, an unassuming Cillian Murphy thriller has stealthily found its way onto Amazon’s Prime Video.
In 2010, the movie titled “Peacock” hit the screens with the actor from “Oppenheimer” joining forces with Elliot Page, Susan Sarandon known for her role in “Thelma & Louise”, Josh Lucas famous for his work on “Yellowstone”, and Bill Pullman, a familiar face from “Independence Day”.
Set in the 1950s, Murphy plays a timid banker named John, and also plays John’s ‘wife’ Emma.
As I navigate my gaming world, different aspects of me coexist peacefully, unbeknownst to others. That is, until a mishap draws attention to one of my characters – Emma. The spotlight feels inviting, and I find myself craving more of it. However, another part of me, John, strongly objects to this idea.
The peacock flew somewhat unnoticed upon its release, resulting in a limited number of critical reviews available for it.

The critic found the movie “genuinely surprising” and commended director Michael Lander for creating “a convincingly melancholic film environment that provides a solid foundation for a premise that initially appears somewhat absurd.
On IMDb, many enthusiasts have left their reviews, labeling it as a “fascinating and fulfilling viewing experience” that initially moves at a leisurely pace but eventually proves to be incredibly engrossing.
Fans were greatly impressed by Murphy’s acting as both characters, with one viewer describing him as nothing less than extraordinary in his depiction of the two contrasting personas that are like day and night.

The movie “28 Days Later” (currently streaming on BBC iPlayer) may be expanding into a trilogy of new films. “28 Years Later” is set to release soon, followed by “The Bone Temple,” which was filmed simultaneously and brings back Murphy’s character, Jim.
However, the third film isn’t officially locked in just yet, as financing hasn’t been completed.
