As a long-time fan of Peaky Blinders, I must admit that the news of a movie spinoff has left me both elated and apprehensive. Having followed the series since its inception over a decade ago, it feels like reuniting with old friends – the Shelby family, Tommy’s cunning schemes, and the hauntingly beautiful soundtrack. Director Tom’s words echo the excitement we all share as audiences, knowing that the alchemy of this extraordinary cast and writing will once again light up our screens.

On a Birmingham set, filming for the latest Peaky Blinders movie titled “The Immortal Man” was observed by actor Cillian Murphy on a recent Monday.

In a new development for the upcoming movie, the main performer, aged 48, was spotted looking quite gritty with mud all over him and a wound on his face that bled, as he rode a horse while reprising his famous character, Tommy Shelby, known for his iconic role.

The Oscar winner played the gangster in the multi-award winning BBC series from 2013 to 2022 and is now back for a big screen outing, alongside new cast members  Barry Keoghan, Rebecca Ferguson and Tim Roth.

It seems that the latest release promises to continue its intense and thrilling nature, with Cillian fully immersed in shooting despite appearing quite exhausted.

As a lifestyle aficionado, I found myself strolling through the bustling streets of Birmingham, where I had the privilege of witnessing an Irish celebrity gracefully navigating a sleek, coal-black steed amidst a sea of extras adorned in authentic period attire.

Amidst a brief pause during this month’s filming in the iconic city of Liverpool, I couldn’t resist stealing a moment to engage in a heart-to-heart with the esteemed director, Steven Knight, right there on the movie set itself. What a thrill!

Information regarding the storyline is scarce, however, it’s confirmed that Steven will reprise his role as a writer, while Tom Harper, who previously directed episodes from the initial season, will be in charge.

Recently, it became known that actor Barry, who is well-known in Saltburn, has become part of the show’s cast. However, specific details about the role he will play are still being kept under wraps.

Over the last few years, I’ve been fortunate enough to have a remarkable acting journey, gracing the screen in Saltburn, Top Boy, and The Banshees of Inisherin.

In June 2024, Netflix officially gave the go-ahead for a feature film, with plans to start filming towards the end of this year.

It was confirmed in June that the original creators and directors of Peaky Blinders, along with Cillian Murphy, will reunite for a Netflix movie based on the popular British TV show.

Netflix made it official on X through a shared script photo, whereas the Academy Award-winning actor hinted to Deadline: “It appears that Tommy Shelby isn’t done with me yet…

It’s incredibly rewarding to team up with Steven Knight and Tom Harper again for the movie adaptation of Peaky Blinders. This project is sure to delight fans everywhere.

10 years back, Director Tom initially led the production of ‘Peaky Blinders’. At that time, we weren’t certain about the series’ eventual trajectory, but we sensed a potent mix in the chemistry between our talented cast and compelling writing – one that felt powerfully explosive.

‘For years, Peaky has been centered around family themes, making it particularly thrilling to rejoin Steve and Cillian once more. Our aim is to share this movie experience globally through Netflix.’

The TV series “Peaky Blinders” debuted in the year 2013, captivating massive viewership not just in the UK but also globally. It attracted A-list actors like Tom Hardy and Anya Taylor-Joy to join its cast.

I’m utterly captivated by this series! It seems as if its creators drew inspiration directly from an infamous Birmingham gang that existed back in the day, from the 1880s to the 1920s. These notorious characters appear to have carried out similar illicit activities as their fictional counterparts in the show.

Over the course of nine years, the hit show Peaky Blinders produced six seasons, culminating in a dramatic finale. Tommy, who’d been misled into thinking he had a fatal condition, survived an assassination attempt masterminded by his own nephew. In a shocking turn of events, he ended up killing him and then decided to embark on a fresh start elsewhere.

However, the recent news about Paul Anderson, who portrays Arthur Shelby, Cillian’s elder brother on the series, has raised worries for his wellbeing following his admission of guilt for crack cocaine possession earlier in the year.

The 45-year-old was also found to have amphetamines, plus diazepam and pregabalin on him.

His continued erratic behaviour in recent months has prompted concern for his welfare.
