Cillian Murphy and Daniel Craig’s new prison drama gets exciting filming update

Cillian Murphy and Daniel Craig are filming a new movie about prison life. Directed by Damien Chazelle, production started yesterday in Greece. The movie doesn’t have a title yet.

Filming is currently taking place in Athens, inside a converted tobacco factory basement that now resembles a prison.

Details about the movie’s story are still secret, but World of Reel has revealed that it centers on a prison warden, played by Craig, who tries to control a rebellious inmate, played by Murphy, inside a harsh prison system.

With increasing conflict, the connection between the characters becomes a battle of wills. Michelle Williams plays the role of the warden’s wife, and Mia Threapleton portrays the girlfriend of the inmate.

Filming will continue in western Athens until May, then shift to the wider Athens area before concluding on the island of Corfu.

I thought the movie really needed a good reason to be made. I especially loved how the sixth season ended, with Tommy riding off into the countryside – it left you wondering what happened to him and if we’d ever see him again.

I thought the TV show had a great ending, so any movie adaptation would have to be just as good, or even better.
