Chucky star dead at 61 two years after being investigated for sexting minors
61-year-old Ed Gale, famous for his role as the terrifying character Chucky from the 1988 horror movie Child’s Play, has passed away.
His niece, Kayse Gale, confirmed the passing of her ‘fun uncle’ in a heartfelt Facebook post.
‘Ed Gale has bid farewell on earth and is now shining in the hereafter,’ she penned down. ‘At age twenty, Ed hitchhiked to California with only $41 and a dream, and never looked back. He illuminated the big screens in cult-favorite films such as Howard the Duck and Chopper Chicks in Zombie Town, accumulating immense admiration wherever he went at conventions. A fact he was always eager to share.’
In the course of his professional life, he starred in more than 130 films, television programs, and advertisements. This extensive collection of work ensures a lasting impact, characterized by debatable lighting and memorable catchphrases.
Kayse continued to reflect upon the fact that he expressed his affection for him through sharing his passion for the world of entertainment and the enchantment of Hollywood with his nieces.

Ed adored 7-Eleven hot dogs drenched excessively in ketchup. He cherished reminiscing about his golden years spinning tunes at the Plainwell roller rink. For no apparent reason, he disliked Bill Maher intensely. He took great pleasure in the gradual unfolding of a captivating story and bending the rules at cribbage. He had an extraordinary sense of humor, and his absence will be deeply felt. In closing her thoughts, she said, ‘Rest in peace, you grumpy character.’
A source also confirmed to TMZ that the actor passed away in hospice on Tuesday in Los Angeles.
His cause of death has not been revealed.
As the authority on all things lifestyle-related, I’m proud to share that I had the privilege of breathing life into the iconic character Chucky in the original Child’s Play movie. Later on, I stepped back into those menacing shoes for two more thrilling sequels, continuing to send chills down audiences’ spines with my portrayal as the notorious killer doll.
Throughout his acting career, Ed has appeared in offbeat favorites such as Howard the Duck and Chopper Chicks in Zombietown.
The artist enjoyed an exceptionally productive career within the realm of Hollywood, extending over approximately 130 film projects, television programs, and advertisements.
Two years ago, Ed passed away, following an investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department concerning his on-camera confession of allegedly exchanging inappropriate messages with as many as ten minors.
A self-proclaimed organization named ‘Creep Catcher Unit’ assumed an online identity of a 14-year-old boy and claimed to have received inappropriate messages. They then recorded themselves accusing the actor of such behavior during a face-to-face encounter at his Hollywood apartment.

At that moment, the police informed DailyMail.com they were conducting an investigation, however, no arrests had been made and no charges were pressed at that time.
In videos recorded by the Creep Catcher Unit, Ed admitted he had engaged in sexual conversations with multiple minor individuals. He specified all of these individuals were under the age of 18, and he estimated that there were no more than a dozen such cases.
He shared with the leader of the CC Unit, known as Ghost, his intention to engage in sexual activities involving oral, manual, and potentially anal acts, believing that the individual he was messaging was actually a 14-year-old boy.
In the startling video clip, the actor known for his roles in Howard the Duck, Spaceballs, and Chucky was posed a question by Ghost: “Have you engaged in sexual conversations with a minor online, yes or no?” To this, the actor responded affirmatively. “That’s illegal,” Ghost pointed out. Affirming once more, the actor, Gale, agreed.
The screenshots of the suspected chat between Gale and a fake account apparently reveal that the actor suggested, “Let me hold yours while you go to the bathroom… your little winky,” and inquired, “Do you enjoy the taste of semen?
As a devoted admirer, I find myself referenced in texts that seemingly portray Gale expressing desires such as, “I yearn to savor your taste on my lips” and “I long to be united with you.

In their suspected discussion, the deception posed the question to Gale: “Would you prefer to always use a condom, or perhaps go without for a short while but use lubricant?” To which Gale responded, “I’d rather do it without a condom, but with lubricant.
During our lengthy, recorded face-off, I presented Gale with hard copies of his text messages, and he acknowledged that they were indeed from him.
In an interview with DailyMail.com, a resident from our apartment complex, Maggie Mayor-Oats, shared her uneasiness towards Gale, describing him as unsettling.
The jewelry store employee commented, “It doesn’t really surprise me. I often notice various men entering and exiting his apartment.
Back in the day, I was absolutely star-struck when I heard about Howard the Duck, the film that catapulted Gale to stardom. Little did I know, criminal records reveal a troubling fact – Gale collaborated with a notorious pedophile actor on this very movie. It’s a shocking revelation that tarnishes an otherwise memorable moment in cinema history.
In 2002, Jeffrey Jones, best known for his roles alongside Gale in a movie, as well as in Beetlejuice and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, was arrested and subsequently found guilty of owning child pornography and soliciting a minor.
He has since been arrested twice for failing to update his sex offender registry status.
Back in 2014, Gale spoke about his former relationship with Jones. He had Jones over for Thanksgiving in Palm Springs following the filming of Howard the Duck in the 1980s, a time preceding Jones’ conviction.
