co-creator Chuck Lorre‘s new show starring Leanne Morgan officially sets a release date.
The upcoming sitcom titled “Leanne” starring comedian Leanne Morgan has been scheduled for a release on July 31st. This multicamera series will revolve around the character Leanne, whose life is turned upside down when her husband of 33 years leaves her for another woman. The official synopsis reveals that “Beginning anew at this stage in life, which she hadn’t planned, isn’t ideal, but with family support, she’ll face this new chapter with poise, respect, and perhaps a jello salad.” In addition to its lead actor, “Leanne” will also include guest appearances by Ryan Stiles, Annie Gonzalez, Hannah Pilkes, Graham Rogers, Blake Clark, Celia Weston, Kristen Johnson, and Algerita Wynn.

At the specified moment, Lorre made a statement, saying, “If you’ve watched just ten seconds of Leanne Morgan’s stand-up act, you already realize what an extraordinary comedic power she possesses.” Lorre went on to extol Morgan’s virtues and promote the series, stating, “The theme of new beginnings resonates with everyone, and I can’t imagine anyone more suited to blend heart and humor than Leanne. I was determined to collaborate with her, and I am thrilled to share this tale with Netflix.
This Has Been Morgan’s Dream
Morgan expressed her excitement by saying, “I’ve longed for this since my childhood, and I can hardly believe it’s finally happening! When I began doing comedy 25 years ago, my aspiration was to be a part of a sitcom. This just goes to prove that it’s never too late, and dreams do materialize. I’m a grandmother from Tennessee now, and I have a TV show with Chuck Lorre and Netflix. Incredible, isn’t it?
This year, Morgan will make her first appearance on the big screen, taking on the character of Gwyneth in the movie “You’re Cordially Invited,” directed by Nicholas Stoller. The film features Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon as Jim Caldwell and Margot Buckley, a widowed father and wedding planner who find themselves needing to share an island venue because their events were mistakenly scheduled on the same days.
Initially at odds with each other, they unexpectedly develop a connection that assists them in resolving both their personal and relationship issues. Despite mostly unfavorable reviews, the movie “You’re Cordially Invited” reached number one on the Prime Video streaming charts from January 30 to February 5.
