Christy Turlington was a major supermodel in the 1990s as she worked for Vogue, Versace and Chanel.

The 57-year-old, originally from San Francisco, has scored a major new role: she’s become a Global Ambassador for the beauty company Lancôme.

Turlington rose to international prominence during the supermodel era of the late 1980s. 

She’s been a major figure in fashion for decades, gracing the covers of over 500 magazines and working with many of the world’s most famous brands.

Turlington’s best friends were Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss. 

Today, this New York City resident is known not only as a generous supporter of charities and a leader in the nonprofit world, but also as a published author, dedicated yoga practitioner, and advocate for overall wellness.

Becoming a mother sparked her passion for filmmaking, leading her to create the documentary No Woman, No Cry in 2010. This experience also motivated her to establish Every Mother Counts, a nonprofit organization that she currently directs.
