CHRISTOPHER STEVENS reviews Race Across The World: I could win Race Across The World’s £20,000 first prize – and here’s how

Instead of flying, why not consider renting a car instead? While the competition, Race Across The World, forbids air travel, using taxis or hitchhiking is allowed. Therefore, there’s no issue with renting your own vehicle for transportation.

Approaching the final stretch at the southernmost part of India, following a journey by train, bus, and tuk-tuk from the Great Wall of China, everyone found themselves with extra money on hand.

Despite the unprecedentedly tight budget for this series, each of the four couples managed to afford a taxi ride during the last stage.

They’ve traveled 8,700 miles over 51 days, averaging about 170 miles per day. With a rental car, they could have done it in just about half the time. If cost was an issue with a hire car, perhaps purchasing a motorcycle would be a more affordable alternative?

In a more casual and straightforward manner, My thinking is always finding unconventional paths, but it seems there must be a quicker route to success. During the race held in Canada two years back, some competitors took advantage of Canadians’ kindness by hitching rides with them.

I’m considering hiring a novice driver and offering him a share of the winnings as incentive: help me reach the finishing point first, and you’ll receive a fourth of the £20,000 reward.

It’s an expensive way to win — but losing is more expensive.

Among the five pairs, not a single one was ready to resort to dishonesty. After all, it’s those contestants who build stronger relationships throughout the competition that truly emerge victorious in this show.

The organizers of this competition have skillfully chosen engaging and appealing contestants. Each participant and their pairing have developed a stronger bond as the weeks progressed.

Initially, Elizabeth and Letitia, along with Brian and Melvyn, were not well acquainted at the beginning of the journey. However, luckily for them, they eventually found they had a genuine fondness for one another.

It could have been uncomfortable if the journey only reminded them of the reasons they grew apart initially.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the wedding of Fin and Sioned, just like everyone else. The moment they were both gifted garlands at a bustling flower market in Bengaluru, Sioned turned to her boyfriend with a gleam in her eye and whispered, “Could this be the day we tie the knot?

The most heartwarming bond is shared by the victorious pair, Caroline (mother) and Tom. It’s evident that she cherishes him deeply, and he has learned to express his gratitude, jotting down heartfelt words of thanks in a touching journal entry.

Even early in the day, it’s understandable that she’d be cautious around him. At home, as she put it, her strategy involves bringing him a cup of tea and a breakfast sandwich – and then swiftly making an exit. Many parents can relate to this experience.

Unfortunately, it turned out to be unfortunate timing for the series, as the most captivating pair, divorced duo Yin and Gaz, were eliminated midway through the show’s run.

How about rephrasing it like this for a more casual and friendly tone: Could something like appearing together on “I’m A Celebrity” be what it takes to reunite them again?
