Christine McGuinness reveals she’s been struggling with the side effects of her ADHD medication as she opens up on diagnosis

Christine McGuinness has shared that she’s trying a new ADHD medication, as she’s been experiencing side effects from the previous two she’s tried.

The 37-year-old model received diagnoses of both autism and ADHD in 2020. For most of her life, she’d wondered why she felt different from other people, and the diagnoses finally provided answers.

Christine revealed that since her diagnosis, she’s been finding it difficult to manage her emotional responses and express herself clearly.

She looked incredibly glamorous in the busty selfies she shared alongside her candid post.

Okay, so she finally posted an update! It says she’s been off one ADHD medication for three weeks, but she started a third kind just three days ago! It’s so interesting to see her navigate this, and she was really smart to add that it’s all about personal choice – what works for one person doesn’t work for another, and you just have to do what you need to do. I’m just so invested in her journey!

I started taking these medications early last year and I’m still not sure if they’re right for me. The side effects were difficult, and I had to stop taking them once, but I’m giving it one more try, hoping they’ll work. It felt good to be myself again while not medicated, and I really miss that feeling.

Okay, let’s be real – some days, managing my emotions and reactions feels like a total rollercoaster! I’m working on finding better ways to calm down, think before I speak, and not get so easily bothered by things. It’s a journey, especially navigating life with ADHD and AuDHD, but I’m optimistic that with a little support (and yes, medication!), I’ll get there. It’s all about progress, not perfection, right? Sending love to everyone else on this path, especially during ADHD Awareness Month and Hidden Disability Awareness Week! ✨

Christine described the experience of being both autistic and having ADHD as ‘creative chaos with a side of overthinking,’ emphasizing it’s not simply confusion.

AUDHD is a commonly used term, though not an official diagnosis, for people who have both autism and ADHD, as Christine identifies herself.

This news follows Christine’s announcement that she’s preparing to share her life story after her divorce, with plans to write a revealing new memoir.

She’s reportedly prepared to be more open and honest than ever before, discussing the difficulties she’s experienced lately.

Christine has quickly become a favorite among readers. Her 2021 autobiography offered a personal look at her journey to fame and her relationship with the star of the show Take Me Out.

Christine has quickly become a favorite among readers. Her 2021 autobiography offered a personal look at how she became famous and her relationship with the star of the show Take Me Out.

She’s suggested a possible sequel, continuing the story and exploring what happened after the split. This new book would also delve into her experiences with a recent autism and ADHD diagnosis, and her path to understanding herself better.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Christine revealed: ‘It’s amazing to get to do an autobiography.’

‘I can write about what happened next – I love writing.’

She explained that being genuine and sharing personal experiences is key, and she’s now prepared to fully accept the situation.

This follows Christine’s recent discussion of life after her separation from Paddy, where she shared that being single can be ‘lonely’ at times.

The model, who divorced the Top Gear host last year after 11 years of marriage, openly discussed how she’s been adapting to life on her own.

Okay, so Christine just shared this, and honestly, it’s everything! She’s basically saying she’s figuring things out with dating again, and, like, really exploring who she is and what she wants. She’s had a whole year of just…growing and understanding herself better, and it’s so amazing to see! It’s like, she’s finally putting herself first, and I’m living for it!
