Christina Hall’s ex Josh Hall pays tribute to his friend of more than twenty years after death from cancer: ‘The best human I’ve ever known’
As I delve into the tumultuous tale of Christina and Josh, it’s evident that their union has been as unpredictable as a home renovation project gone awry. Having witnessed the ups and downs of several high-profile relationships myself, I can’t help but empathize with Christina’s plight.
In a break from their continuous verbal sparring, Christina and Josh Hall momentarily halted their disagreement to honor the memory of an old friend who passed away on Tuesday.
On the very same day, Josh (age 43) reminisced about his long-time friend, Gonzalo Galvez, who tragically passed away, in a heartfelt Instagram post. They had cherished their friendship that spanned over two decades.
‘Today the best human I’ve ever known had his ticket punched by the evil cancer,’ Josh announced.
Showing his lifelong bravery, he was determined not to back down, as he put it. He mentioned that they had regular conversations or encounters with Gonzalo until the very end.
Josh found it remarkable that his long-standing friend consistently refused to quit and kept battling, even in the face of obstacles.
But he also took a somber tone as looked ahead to a future without a cherished pal.
Whenever they connected, whether in person or over the phone, Josh mentioned they would reminisce about past moments and create new plans for the future.
“Alas, our dreams of joining forces will remain unrealized, yet the cherished moments we shared will eternally dwell within my heart,” I penned down.
Josh praised Gonzalo as an exceptional individual, a living icon who stirred inspiration in everyone he met, regardless of the fact that he wasn’t well-known or wealthy.
He shared stories about how they quickly developed a strong friendship while serving together at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. He also mentioned that Gonzalo appeared more self-assured, even though he was just a few years older than him.
‘I knew this was a guy I wanted as my friend for life,’ Josh wrote.
I fondly acknowledged the enduring impact my departed comrade had on my life by introducing me to a circle of friends who have been with me through thick and thin for over two decades. Reflecting on our friendship, I can’t help but marvel at how much living and learning we’ve crammed into those 23 years – experiences that many people might not be able to fit into an entire lifetime.
Josh made clear that Gonzalo was highly cherished by his friends, since they would take turns sitting with him when he was ill.
He also made a promise to his deceased friend that ‘Raquel, the children, and your loved ones will take care of everything until we’re no longer here.’ (In this sentence, ‘pick up the pieces’ was replaced with ‘take care of everything’ for clarity and natural flow.)
Josh wrapped up by sharing the last words his friend had told him: “I love you, Josh. Everything will be alright.”
He added, ‘I love you Gonzalo Galvez. EOW 08-06-2024.’
Over the past week, I’ve found myself reflecting deeply, much like Josh did when he posted a heartfelt selfie with his beloved pet. Despite turning down a substantial seven-figure offer from his ex, Christina, Josh chose to share a touching moment instead – a testament to the comfort and solace our pets can provide in times of introspection.
He wrote in the caption: ‘I prefer privacy, especially during something as life changing as a divorce I did not ask for.’
In a more general sense, he promised, “I won’t publicly criticize or disparage anyone, because everyone has loved ones and associates who value and appreciate them. It’s unfortunate that what you post on the internet stays there permanently.”
In an open conversation with my 92.3K followers, let me clarify: We’re authentic individuals living genuine lives, not performers playing out a script for strangers. I value privacy and won’t share personal matters indiscriminately. The appropriate channels for addressing such issues will be handled discreetly through our legal advisors when the time is right. Those who truly know me, understand my character.
Christina and Josh each submitted paperwork for a divorce, but they have different dates for when they separated: Christina stated it was on July 7, whereas Josh put down July 8.
According to a source, the divorcing couple have yet to initiate any discussions or negotiations regarding their impending divorce. (Us Weekly, this weekend)
The couple tied the knot in 2022 and did not sign a prenup.
In a nutshell, Josh wants an equal share of the assets, but according to a post on social media in July, Christina has no plans to divide her personal possessions equally.
Through an Instagram post, she made clear: “I’ve put in countless efforts to create the life I have now for myself and my kids. Anyone attempting to seize what isn’t rightfully theirs or what they didn’t earn through hard work should feel embarrassed.”
As an ardent admirer, let me share this empowering sentiment: “Even though a self-important individual may attempt to sabotage my journey, I stand tall and unyielding – ‘I will continue to rise.'”
Following Josh’s heartfelt post about hope on his Instagram Stories, I couldn’t help but jot down my thoughts and share my own perspective alongside it.
She wrote, expressing her expectation with a tone of assertiveness, ‘I anticipate receiving significantly more money from her than what she has already proposed.’ This is a less confrontational way to convey the same idea.
After several weeks following their consecutive divorce petitions, Christina alleged that her separated spouse had moved $35,000 from her account into his, implying questionable financial dealings.
According to legal papers acquired by ET, the HGTV personality asserted that Josh had transferred more than $35,000 from my independent rental earnings into his own account.
In the court documents, she stated, ‘I request that Josh explains where the money was spent and returns it to me, as this money was earmarked for repaying loans, fulfilling obligations, paying property taxes, insurance, and maintaining our rental properties.’
Previously, Christina had been married to Tarek El Moussa, and together they have a 13-year-old daughter named Taylor and an 8-year-old son named Brayden.
She was briefly married to Ant Anstead and they share four-year-old son Hudson.
