Christina Hall claims estranged husband Josh Hall ‘took items’ from home during unscheduled visit and turned on security cameras she had unplugged amid divorce
As someone who has followed Christina Anstead’s career and personal life closely, I can’t help but feel a pang of sadness upon reading this latest turn of events. Christina, a successful businesswoman and reality TV star, has always seemed to wear her heart on her sleeve, putting her family and work first in all aspects of her life.
In a recent divorce filing, Christina Hall accused her ex-husband, Josh Hall, of taking belongings from their home unexpectedly and activating security cameras that she had previously disconnected.
According to People’s obtained document, the TV star, who married Hall in October 2021, submitted a complaint with no prior notice to the court, detailing allegations – just days following his divorce filing based on ‘irreconcilable differences’, which he initiated on July 15.
On July 9, Josh is accused by Christina of abandoning their home in Newport Beach, California, following her announcement the previous day that she intended to file for divorce and an agreement allowing her to reside there with their three kids.
Since then, Josh has visited the property multiple times. The initial visit was arranged for him to retrieve some belongings. On a subsequent visit, however, he showed up unexpectedly and took additional items without permission.
Additionally, she admits that Josh reconnected the security cameras which she had previously disconnected, following a demand from his legal representative.
Christina mentioned that she received a letter from Josh’s lawyer asking her to preserve ‘evidence from the home cameras without it getting erased’ indefinitely.
Christina replied, “I disconnected the cameras to prevent the system from erasing the recordings. Every time Josh came back to our house, he reconnected them, enabling him to monitor my home and my family. I don’t agree with him having that level of control over our privacy.”
A reliable insider shared with the media that Josh is unfamiliar with operating the cameras, further mentioning that he has no reason to conceal anything.
I’m a lifestyle expert and I have the pleasure of being a mother to two wonderful kids: Taylor, who’s now a teen at 13, and Brayden, an energetic eight-year-old. My first marriage was to Tarek El Moussa, and together we welcomed our first son Hudson, who’s currently four years old. With my second husband Ant Anstead, we’ve expanded our loving family even further.
This comes after Christina accused Josh of transferring $35,000 of her money into his bank account.
According to obtained legal papers reported by ET, the HGTV figure asserts that Josh transferred more than $35,000 from her independent rental earnings into his own account.
In my affidavit, I clearly stated that I expect Josh to explain the origin of the money he withdrew and return it to me. Those particular funds were allocated towards covering various expenses such as loan repayments, property taxes, insurance, and maintenance costs related to our rental properties.
The funds originated from Christina’s rental properties scattered throughout Tennessee, which Josh reportedly secured through a text message to the property managers on July 8. This date holds significance for Josh as he asserts it marks their separation, whereas Christina insists it was the 7th instead.
“Josh’s text stated, ‘Hi. Regarding June payments, let’s change the recipient account when it’s due. Appreciate your cooperation.'” This version keeps the original meaning while making the language more conversational and clear.
Christina revealed that she discovered the transfer on July 21 after attaching a screenshot as proof in her filing.
I carefully documented in my files that I didn’t interact with Josh at all on July 8, 2024. And let me tell you, after informing him of our impending divorce, there was no way I’d ask him to transfer funds to me the very next day.
Additionally, she shared that the property manager complied with the request under the assumption that I had given the go-ahead for the switch in accounts. He then requested and received the new account information from Josh, who provided his Wells Fargo Bank details.
In California’s Orange County Superior Court, three children’s mother has asked a judge to make Josh give back the money from the filed documents.
Moreover, she intends to have the Newport Beach, California, house they used to co-own all to herself.
I understand that the house is jointly titled, but I want to clarify that the funds for its purchase primarily came from the sale of my previous property in Dana Point.
As a dedicated fan, I can tell you from my perspective, the Flip or Flop star acknowledged before the court that at some point in the future, he might be obligated to provide spousal support for his spouse and cover reasonable attorney fees for their legal representation.
In my opinion, this situation seems uncomplicated with basic accounting requirements over a brief duration. Consequently, any associated fees and expenses are expected to be reasonably low.
I expressed it this way instead: My days are filled with taking care of my kids and working just like many devoted mothers. I believe Josh earns his own income, making it unnecessary for him to receive financial assistance from me.
‘He has sufficient assets of his own to pay his own attorney’s fees and costs. Quite frankly I am shocked and concerned by the fact that he has diverted over $35,000 of my separate property money to his separate account on July 8, 2024.
It’s striking how he claims that this specific date in the past, which is actually July 7, 2024, is our separation date. His choice of the following day becomes much more understandable given this information.
After the transfer of funds, Christina expresses concern about potential hidden financial details from her husband’s past, leading her to commission a comprehensive forensic accounting review covering our entire marriage.
Based on my experience working as a paralegal for several years, I can say that from the information given, it seems that there are some pending court filings related to unscheduled visits, a claim for $35,000, and security camera installation costs. These details have not been presented in court yet.
According to reliable sources, Josh was taken by surprise when she chose to end their relationship. He had dedicated significant time and energy to her in various aspects of his life – socially, professionally, and romantically.
According to sources, Josh feels like he’s lost his ‘whole world.’
As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: I made the decision to cut off direct communication with him following our dispute. Instead, I chose to engage only through legal channels. And he eventually did the same, hiring his own attorney to represent him in our marital matters.
Josh is now spending time in Nashville – and wishes Christina and her kids ‘nothing but the best.’
After going through the divorce process, Josh finally spoke up by sharing a photo on Instagram Story on Thursday, accompanied by a prayer hand emoticon.
And it was business as usual for Christina as she promoted her TV show in an Instagram Story post.
I’m excited to share that tonight’s new episode of Christina on The Coast is absolutely stunning, as promised in this smiley photo preview.
