Christina Haack Reveals How Her Third Divorce Forced Her to Face Deep Relationship Struggles
TV personality Christina Haack has courageously kept her feelings open for all to see in the spotlight, having gone through three tough divorces spanning the last eight years.
Previously, the star of Flip or Flop, aged 41, responded to the comments about her personal relationships by disclosing her past struggles with codependency and an anxious attachment pattern.
In the context of her fresh, wholesome partnership with Network Connex’s CEO and president, Christopher Larocca, the mother of three shared insights into her realization that she grapples with anxious attachment. This condition makes it challenging for individuals to establish a sense of security within their relationships.
In an open and intimate Instagram message, Haack confessed to her 1.9 million followers that she was unsure about the reasons that held her back from reaching this realization.
She clarified that life can sometimes be difficult, referring to herself in the process, before describing how her recent romantic venture has motivated her to break free from old, unhealthy relationship habits.
Originally from Anaheim, she found herself acknowledging that sometimes it seems unusual to her when she encounters a man with an unforeseen successful career, full life, and interests, who displays no signs of envy whatsoever.
In my journey, I’ve reached the age of forty-one, and for the first time, I’m delving deep into the art of secure communication, cherishing my individuality within a bond, and nurturing a partnership that doesn’t swing from 0 to 100. This, my friends, is where I find myself now.
It’s quite frequent, as suggested by CBT therapist Ludovica Colella with more than a decade in the mental health sector, that high-performing people may ignore or conceal signs of anxious attachment for extended periods.
Successful individuals frequently develop a reliance on productivity and control as strategies for handling challenges, according to Colella, who has not collaborated with Haack.
She went on to say: ‘Achievements in their profession and positive feedback on their work often hide underlying emotional scars from past attachments. This can make it challenging, even for them, to identify signs of anxious attachment.’
Previously, Haack acknowledged her actions of exerting pressure on others and found herself repeating the same pattern.
‘Admitting my own doubts pushed me to address the parts of myself I’d previously ignored.’
Colella further clarified that ‘people frequently unconsciously pursue relationship partners who are emotionally unreachable’ is similar to saying ‘this behavior reflects past interpersonal relationships they experienced.’
She stated, ‘People often lean towards what seems comfortable, even if it causes pain.’ For an individual with an anxious attachment style and a driven personality, love might appear something that needs to be earned. Such individuals could misconstrue the effort required to be loved as a common or even beneficial aspect of a relationship, thereby perpetuating patterns of emotional pursuit and potentially reopening wounds related to rejection.

Regarding the possibility of a connection between basking in the limelight and the emergence or strengthening of an anxious attachment style, Colella indicated that fame or being a public figure might provoke and sustain the desire for external validation and approval, implying that one’s self-worth is contingent upon the amount of love, appreciation, and admiration received from others.
Colella went on to point out that ‘his love is actually fleeting and not fulfilling.’
In close relationships, especially those where control isn’t as straightforward and emotional openness is necessary, Colella points out that unresolved fears or worries may become more apparent.
To move from an anxious attachment to a secure connection, a person requires re-learning about the safety aspect of emotional relationships. This process, as Colella explains, involves working on one’s emotions, mastering communication techniques effectively.

For individuals dealing with anxious-attachment issues, she suggested they attempt to pinpoint the root cause of their feelings stemming from perceived abandonment or rejection, as well as the belief that love is something that needs to be earned.
Furthermore, working on managing emotions effectively and breaking habits of repeated requests for reassurance can also contribute significantly to personal growth.
For individuals who deeply cherish and are apprehensive about being rejected, Colella recommended examining previous experiences linked to emotional bonds, relationships with parents, hidden patterns and guidelines concerning love and closeness.
Regarding the appearance of healing, whether it involves marriage, heartache, or professional triumphs, Colella emphasized that external accomplishments may not correlate or even be related to it.
In summary, she stated that allowing room for your weaknesses, accepting yourself fully with all your imperfections, showing more patience instead of reacting hastily, reducing the desire for outside approval and lessening the grip of control and achievement are strong signs that the process of healing is underway.

Haack’s post resonated deeply with her audience, prompting numerous expressions of gratitude from those appreciative of her openness about her personal journey.
One person remarked, “Many seem to experience embarrassment associated with an anxious attachment style. However, it’s important to remember that this is often a survival mechanism developed to ensure safety and connection. Continue nurturing the healing of these past behaviors ❤️❤️.
Another wrote: ‘Commend your vulnerability. We need more of this.’
‘Proud of you! We all have issues and are human,’ a third added.
Haack’s journey to find love has been challenging, marked by three high-profile and contentious divorces and numerous legal disputes with former partners since stepping into the limelight.

In the early 2000s, when they were both employed as real estate agents at Prudential, she first crossed paths with her initial spouse, Tarek El Moussa.
2008 saw them departing from their previous firm to establish a joint real estate agency, which they named “The El Moussa Group,” with themselves as the principal partners, Tarek and Christina.
They tied the knot in 2009, and one year later, they began flipping houses together.
The couple went on to welcome their first child, a daughter named Taylor Reese, in 2011.
Approximately at that point, they conceived the concept for Flip or Flop. Tarek then prepared a trial video and submitted it to HGTV for consideration.
They were signed by the network in 2012, and they launched their show Flip or Flop one year later.
The couple began trying for a second child afterwards, but they struggled to get pregnant.
In 2015, they experienced two unsuccessful attempts at IVF, endured a heartbreaking miscarriage, and then joyfully welcomed their second child, a baby boy named Brayden James.

Back in May 2016, according to TMZ, police were dispatched to the residence of the couple following an argument that involved firearms and a suspected suicide incident.
In response to reports from witnesses who claimed to have seen El Moussa flee through the back door of his house, brandishing a firearm, carrying out a helicopter and approximately eleven deputies were dispatched. These sources also stated that he attempted to make an escape via a nearby hiking trail.
Sources added that they saw Haack run out of the house sobbing and trembling shortly after.
Later on, Tarek mentioned the event in his 2024 publication, stating that following a disagreement with Christina, he left through the backyard by jumping over the fence.
Instead of expressing concern for his life, his wife believed he had simply gone out for a bike ride and an exploration of the trails near their newly bought mountain bikes, as he claimed.

Approximately half a year following the event, the pair revealed their decision to separate, marking the end of their seven-year union.
Similar to numerous other married couples, ours has faced hurdles as well. Approximately half a year ago, we experienced a regrettable miscommunication that led to the involvement of law enforcement for precautionary measures. Fortunately, there was no physical altercation and no charges were brought against us.
They informed people that they had been to marriage counseling, however, during the process of evaluating the prospect of their marriage, they chose to part ways.
Approximately seven years following their divorce, Tarek expressed during an interview with People that he harbors no ill feelings towards Christina.
He explained, “I see now why she acted as she did. Our lives were tough due to my illnesses and the challenges I faced with my mental health because of hormone treatments.
He added that they had an amicable co-parenting relationship and that they ‘all communicate well.’
‘We really focus on the kids,’ he dished.

Following their split, she moved on with TV presenter, Ant Anstead.
Recently, Ant ended a 12-year marriage to his wife, Louise, who together they raised two children.
They started dating in October 2017, but kept their romance out of the public eye at first.
They went public in January 2018, when Christina shared a sultry photo of her and Ant to Instagram.
They got married in a quiet ceremony held at their residence in Newport Beach, California, towards the end of December.
Christina and Ant welcomed their first child, Hudson London, by September 2019, having been eagerly anticipating the event since March of that year.
But one year later, they shocked the world when they announced that they were splitting.
‘Ant and I have made the difficult decision to separate,’ Christina wrote on Instagram at the time.
‘We are grateful for each other and as always, our children will remain our priority.’

In a subsequent post, she commented a few days later, ‘I never imagined I’d experience even one divorce, let alone two.’
‘I never thought I would have two baby daddies – but sometimes life throws us curve balls.
Rather than dwelling on these obstacles, I prefer to view them as chances for personal development.
‘So while some may judge me and throw around rumors about me, most of you support me.
In my own journey through life, I’ve come to realize that the state of disarray I find myself in – imperfect, raw, and striving for improvement – mirrors the larger world around us. It’s a testament to our shared evolution and growth. We are all works-in-progress, with our own unique paths towards healing and self-improvement.

Two weeks following the finalization of her divorce, Christina ignited speculation about dating when she was seen holding hands with real estate agent Josh Hall in the airport.
Straightaway, Christina encountered criticism online about her swift move into a new relationship. However, she swiftly responded by defending it on Instagram.
In a calm and non-threatened state, she encountered Josh. While acknowledging her quirks and imperfections, she assured that she wouldn’t let others’ judgments or opinions dictate the way she lives her life.
We take great care to avoid judging others, instead striving for their happiness, and hope that others reciprocate this kindness by showing similar respect towards us.
Josh doesn’t use social media, yet I feel compelled to express my gratitude towards him for orchestrating a charming tropical getaway – all by himself.
In another post, she included a selfie with Josh, and she wrote, “It’s wonderful when some people can have forever right from the start, but nobody should feel embarrassed if things don’t work out. After all, we never truly know what happens within someone’s private life.
Consider refraining from quick judgments or assumptions, as this lady/mother is fortunate to be a chosen one by him.
The couple announced their engagement in September 2021, and married privately one month later.
They went on to throw a lavish wedding in Hawaii in September 2022.

In the year 2022, the duo additionally established a joint venture, named Unbroken Productions, that produced television series such as Christina on the Coast and Christina in the Country.
After two years had passed, it became public knowledge that they would appear together in a brand-new competitive show titled “The Flip Off,” alongside their former partner Tarek and his current spouse, Heather Rae El Moussa.
However, one month after the show announcement took place, Josh filed for divorce from Christina.
Back in January 2024, it was unveiled by DailyMail.com that Haack had been in a secret relationship with her present partner for a considerable period of time.
For several months, Christina has been in a relationship with Chris Larocca. It seems they rarely spend time apart and are frequently seen exploring Newport.
‘They even have traveled abroad and visited other countries together.’
The source added, “I find it quite unexpected that the public isn’t aware of their relationship yet, given how openly they display their togetherness.
It seems that the exact date they began dating or the story behind their first meeting isn’t known, but for the past three months, Christina and Chris have been seen at numerous events together, and more recently, they took a vacation to Cabo San Lucas.

In a different phrasing, we find that the President and CEO of Network Connex, a telecom service company, named Chris, has a 17-year-old child from his prior marriage.
In January 2015, he ended his eight-year marriage with his former spouse, who he had been with prior to their separation.
In accordance with the terms outlined in their divorce papers, which were acquired by DailyMail.com, they have been maintaining shared guardianship over their child.
When asked by Us Weekly this year about her intentions to remarry, Christina replied, “I’m a hopeless romantic and I may remarry at some point in the future. However, not in the immediate future.
she mentioned that she’d require at least five years of commitment before getting married once more.
