As a lifestyle expert with years of experience under my belt, I must say that watching Christina Haack‘s emotional journey in the latest sneak peek of Flip Off is truly heart-wrenching. Her tears and raw emotions are a testament to the pain and turmoil that come with ending a marriage, especially when children are involved.
Christina Haack broke down in tears in a new preview of her reality TV show Flip Off.
She found herself seated comfortably on the couch of her mansion in Orange County, California, engaged in conversation with her former spouse, Tarek El Moussa.
In easier terms, the 41-year-old home improvement expert shared that her relationship with her third husband, Josh Hall (age 44), became extremely difficult.
In just a short while, Christina found herself crying deeply, drying her eyes along the way. Meanwhile, Tarek, aged 43, appeared sorrowful, casting his gaze aside as he sought to provide strength and support for her.
‘Josh and I officially split up,’ said the California native.
She expressed that we’d had a major disagreement… her gesturing as if to flip me off. She also mentioned that things between her and Josh hadn’t been going well for quite some time.
In the summer of 2024, Josh decided to end his marriage that had lasted almost three years and filed for divorce. Originally planned to appear together with Christina and Tarek on ‘The Flip Off’, their separation led to Christina continuing the filming without Josh.

However, the saddest part unfolds as Christina discloses the emotional toll it takes on her and Tarek’s kids, Taylor, aged 14, and Brayden, who is 9 years old.
She tearfully expresses that the children essentially requested her departure, explaining they’ve said he isn’t kind to her. So, it’s perplexing as to why she’d choose to remain there.
Christina describes feeling like she’s perpetually stuck within a whirlwind, with no chance of escape, leading her to eventually weep.
In her own words, she expresses that the period starting from 2016 has been extremely challenging and agonizing, leaving a heavy emotional impact on her.
In 2016, the marriage between Christina and Tarek came to an end following a stressful situation where Tarek left with a firearm and subsequently sought treatment in a rehabilitation facility.
Regardless of some ups and downs, they’ve generally kept their relationship cordial in the past few years.
In the sneak peak of The Flip Off, Christina apologizes to Tarek, saying, ‘I’m really sorry for s— too. I really am. I just want you to know.’
In a somewhat emotional tone, Tarek replies, “I get how one might feel a bit disoriented. Moreover, I accept that I’ve played a significant role, if not the main role, in everything that’s happening.
Last month, Haack said Hall’s exit from The Flip Off made production much easier.
She shared with Entertainment Tonight that it was challenging for her to work on the show because of her husband’s insecurity.
The reality star expressed that it’s quite disheartening when someone feels insecure about you and finds your success unpleasant. It significantly dulls the atmosphere.
Haack, who adopted the surname Hall upon marriage in April 2022, is now reverting to her birth name (Haack).
I found myself dimming my light a bit, to avoid threatening his masculinity, but who’d want to exist in such a dull manner?” – She pondered aloud.
She admitted honestly that it wasn’t enjoyable for her, ‘Filming with him wasn’t enjoyable at all.’ Since they parted ways, she found that it became significantly simpler and better in all aspects, she added.
Haack had no problems on the set with her first ex-husband Tarek.
El Moussa and his wife, Heather Rae, 37, co-star in the house flipping show set to debut in 2025.
She noted that Tarek and she share a unique relationship, one that others might label as playful or teasing, but she clarified it’s more akin to the bond between siblings.
Haack mentioned that she’d confided in El Moussa about the tough times she was experiencing for approximately a year, or even closer to 18 months.
El Moussa revealed Haack seemed to be returning to her old self after filing for divorce in July.
‘At the beginning, she was going through it, you know, but she recovers really quick, he told ET.
It’s quite evident that her spirits have returned. She seems joyful and brimming with enthusiasm for life. In essence, she’s thriving.
45-year-old Ant Anstead, who was previously married to Haack, was spotted shooting parts of The Flip Off in Los Angeles lately.
