As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for emerging talent, I must say that Christian Wilkins is undeniably following in his father’s footsteps, but with a unique twist of his own. Having grown up in the limelight and learning from one of Australia’s most respected entertainment figures, it’s no surprise to see him excel as the official red carpet host for the ARIA Awards.

Christian Wilkins, son of renowned entertainer Richard Wilkins, is showing that the adage “like father, like son” definitely holds true in his case.

On a Tuesday, I couldn’t help but burst onto my Instagram, brimming with excitement! You see, I’ve been chosen – yes, me! – as the official red carpet host for the illustrious ARIA Awards. It’s a dream come true, and I can hardly contain my enthusiasm!

Wilkins enthusiastically announced the thrilling development to his 45,000 Instagram friends, uploading a picture where he was seen striking a pose at a past event donning an elegant semi-transparent nude attire.

Co-hosts Bridget Hustwaite, Latifa Tee, and Rhys Nicholson will join him as they all take the lead for Australian music’s grandest event.

Nova FM’s Tim Blackwell has meanwhile been named the host for the ceremony.

Notable Australian musicians and personalities are expected to grace the event’s grand entrance, such as: Ava Max, Missy Higgins, CYRIL, 3% (Band), Jessica Mauboy, and Amy Shark from The Presets’ Julian Hamilton.

Kane Brown, Artemas, Budjerah, Concetta Caristo and Luka Muller are also set to make an appearance.

This year’s nominees feature some of Australia’s biggest stars and rising talents.

In this fresh opportunity, Christian continues to advance significantly in his successful career within media, emulating his renowned father Richard, a seasoned entertainment journalist and presenter for the Nine Network.

Previously this year, Richard defended his son when some labeled him a ‘nepotism child’, following the young actor being ranked as one of Australia’s most advantaged youth.

A ‘nepotism baby’ is someone who gains advantage due to familial ties or a well-off upbringing.

In conversation with Daily Mail Australia, Richard expressed that the label bothered him since his son should not face criticism for having parents who are simply trying to offer their child support.

He expressed some frustration, saying, “It annoys me a bit when I see law firms and auto body shops; they seem to involve their families extensively, offering jobs to their children and assisting them in various aspects of life.

Currently residing in the U.S., Christian – fresh from pursuing an acting career – dismissed the tag with a chuckle, asserting that his renowned family name holds no sway over his international success.

He expressed deep gratitude for being his father’s child, likening the situation to being a ‘nepo baby’, and essentially saying, ‘if that’s what it means, I’m okay with it,’ when speaking to Daily Mail Australia.

‘And I can tell you this much though. The Wilkins name unfortunately doesn’t carry the same weight in Los Angeles, so I don’t necessarily feel like a nepo baby over there.’

The father-son duo have been working together on their new podcast called The Apple and The Tree.

Christian thought it would be a good idea to team up with his father, aiming to combine their respective expertise and strengthen their familial ties.
