As a lifestyle expert with a penchant for Hollywood tales, I must say that Christian Slater’s recent exploits have caught my attention. The man is not just a seasoned actor, but also an unexpected athlete, having bested Channing Tatum in a push-up contest on the set of Zoë Kravitz’s directorial debut, Blink Twice.

In the course of filming Zoë Kravitz’s directorial debut, Blink Twice, I (Christian Slater) experienced a surge in confidence as I outperformed Channing Tatum in our push-up challenge.

At that moment, Slater estimated he performed approximately 52 push-ups, he added that he could have continued, but chose not to, as he didn’t want to make others feel uncomfortable.

He clarified that he did all 52 push-ups ‘all in one shot,’ and joked that the prize he won was an ‘ego boost, really.’

Slater shared with People, “That sensation was absolutely amazing as I outperformed Magic Mike.” Or, “Slater told People, ‘It was fantastic to have beaten Magic Mike.'”

In an interview with Collider, the actor from Pump Up the Volume, who recently became a father with his wife Brittany Lopez, shared more insights about the atmosphere on the set of Blink Twice.

He remarked about Kravitz, saying, “As a baby, I cradled her in my arms, so small and delicate. To witness her maturity into an accomplished actress and creative spirit, who has collaborated with some remarkable directors, is truly amazing.”

He said Kravitz ‘came in and just had a natural ability’ to direct.

As he spoke, he granted us the freedom to explore and enjoy ourselves. This was our shared adventure, and there was no one present wielding an iron rule, as he put it.

He mentioned that the overall vibe was casual and lively, much like a party setting, but whenever we needed to film more solemn or significant moments, she always made sure everyone gathered to talk about them and share insights.

He added that Kravitz would get the cast in the mood by saying, ‘”These are important scenes to service the story, but let’s talk about how we feel about doing these scenes, and how can we make each other feel as safe as possible.”‘

Besides Slater and Tatum, the movie features Naomi Ackles, Geena Davis, Simon Rex, Adria Arjona, Haley Joel Osment, Alia Shawkat, and Kyle MacLachlan as its stars.

The Heathers actor also revealed the last time he was superstitious.

He shared with People that his room at the Biltmore Hotel in Miami was on the 13th floor. Some people claimed it was haunted, but he responded, “Oh come on, give me a break. I’ll be staying here and I’ll be completely fine.”

‘But there were noises in the middle of the night, doors flying open. I had this horrendous nightmare,’ he explained.

He shared that he had been waving his arms frantically, feeling as though something was attempting to grasp him. The experience was quite intense, he said. The following day, they decided to leave and check out.

This spring, Christian and his wife Brittany Lopez welcomed their second child, a son, together.

He and Lopez already share a four-year-old daughter, whose name has not been publicly revealed.

During his marriage to journalist Ryan Haddon, Slater became a father for the first time to Eliana, who is 22 years old, and Jaden, who is 25.
