Christian Slater and his wife Brittany Lopez recently welcomed their second child together.
On Saturday, People confirmed the couple’s son arrived last month.
Despite revealing the child’s gender, they did not disclose additional details such as the newborn’s name, weight, or the precise date of birth in July.
The exciting news comes just months after revealing Brittany, 35, was expecting as they attended the Los Angeles premiere of Slater’s film Unfrosted in April.
The long-term pair, who first encountered each other during a getaway in Florida’s Little Palm Island when she turned 21 and he was 39, announced their pregnancy by attending the red carpet event at The Egyptian Theatre together.
At a private screening, Lopez revealed her growing belly by turning slightly while standing beside Slater (age 54), both dressed elegantly in a long, floral gown.
He and Lopez already share a four-year-old daughter, whose name has not been publicly revealed.
During his marriage with journalist Ryan Haddon, Slater became a father to Eliana (age 22) and Jaden (age 25), his first two kids.
In the year 2019, following the arrival of his youngest child, Slater shared with People that he loved observing her as she began to truly recognize and smile at him.
Previously, it was an unconscious action for him, but now, she recognizes and smiles, which is a wonderful achievement.
At the time, he also joked about how ‘complicated’ parenting has become since the Nineties.
Reflecting on The Late Late Show with James Corden, I pondered that perhaps your child might catch a few germs, strengthening their immune system. However, it seems now we must all diligently clean and sanitize everything to ensure safety.
He continued: ‘The bottles, they break down into eight different pieces, and it’s a puzzle you have to put together.’
The artist confessed that caring for a newborn was an uninterrupted duty, involving continual clean-ups and sleepless nights.
Instead, he boasted about his spouse being pleased to discover that he had acquired certain abilities through the process of raising his two oldest children.
He clarified that he had managed to help out and even demonstrated diaper-changing skills, which she hadn’t anticipated.
Slater and his wife married in a secret Miami-area courthouse ceremony back in December 2013.
In the year 2012, the engaged couple threw a grand New Year’s Eve party that was joined by hundreds of their beloved friends and family members to celebrate their upcoming union.
‘It kind of already feels like we did the wedding,’ he said at the time.
In spite of their private official wedding, Christian and Brittany opted for a more family-centric celebration later on within the same year.
