Chrishell Stause SLAMS Golden Bachelor Mel Owens for his ageist comments about women over 60
Chrishell Stause spoke out against The Bachelor, expressing disagreement when he stated a preference for women who are not over 60 and do not have replacement hips.
43-year-old celebrity playfully expressed her true feelings towards the criteria that 66-year-old Mel Owens has set for his potential girlfriend, using a touch of sarcasm in the process.
In her Instagram Stories posted on Thursday, she expressed her affection for The Golden Bachelor, stating, “It’s so heartwarming!” She also mentioned that maintaining this positive vibe is crucial to keep the show engaging, but warned, “If things change too drastically, it might lose its charm.
The story unfolded as Owens, a renowned ex-NFL player, recounted his tale on the MGoBlue podcast, which went live on June 4, about selecting the ladies who would compete for his affection.
During the show’s episode, the ex-linebacker disclosed the tale that made Stause become enraged.
Speaking about his conversation with the producers of The Bachelor, Owens shared that they inquired about his preferences. In response, he simply stated that he’d prefer women aged between 45 and 60, expressing his honest feelings.

During our lunch together, the show’s executive producer reconsidered his decision and expressed, “Actually, if they’re 60 or above, I plan to exclude them.
When prompted with the title “The Golden Bachelor,” Owens responded by stating that he was instructed not to employ the term “cut.
‘I go, “Well, that’s an NFL term,”‘ he said.
He then shared his other demands for the women.
He replied, “When they inquired about my details, I shared that I maintain a fit physique by regularly exercising.
And I advised them, “Avoid things like artificial hips and wigs – I believe you understand what I mean by such items.
It’s not just Stause who’s expressing resistance; many fans of the series have openly expressed their disagreement with his statement.
In response to the podcast interview, I have decided not to watch or offer support. It’s important for us to cease backing men who believe themselves superior to the point of refusing to date women their own age. This individual should reconsider his actions and return home.

As a devoted follower, I share the discontent many feel regarding Owens’ recent comments. If public sentiment is any guide, it seems that ratings for his upcoming season might face challenges.
One upset viewer expressed, “If you proceed with him, I’ll no longer be a part of this franchise. Please show respect towards women.
As a devoted admirer, I’m utterly disheartened and find it hard to fathom that those in charge knew this man had no inclination towards the golden lady character, yet they still cast him. It’s downright frustrating! This individual seems to be quite misogynistic, turning down wigs or women above 60. I urge them to be replaced with someone who cherishes and respects women of all ages – after all, that’s the essence of this show we all adore.
ABC has not announced a premiere date for The Golden Bachelor.
