The sci-fi thriller Mercy, starring Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson, is now available on Prime Video. The film is set in 2029 and explores a future where artificial intelligence is used to decide the guilt or innocence of people accused of violent crimes.
Chris Pratt plays Chris Raven, a detective accused of killing his wife, Nicole. He’s tied to a chair and given 90 minutes to gather evidence and prove he didn’t do it.
Ferguson stars as Judge Maddox, an artificial intelligence who oversees the trial. After a set time, Maddox has to review all the evidence and decide whether Chris is innocent or should be sentenced to death by a powerful sound wave.

Even though Mercy came out in January, it’s not surprising it’s now available on streaming services, since Amazon MGM Studios distributed the film.
You can watch the movie with a Prime Video subscription, which costs £8.99 a month or £95 a year. A discounted subscription is available for students and young adults aged 18-22, costing only £4.49 per month.

The new movie Mercy has received mixed reactions. Critics haven’t been impressed, giving it a 25% score on Rotten Tomatoes based on 176 reviews. However, viewers seem to like it much more, with an 83% audience score from over 1,000 ratings.

An IMDB user described the thriller as smart, captivating, and emotionally powerful, highlighting its ability to build suspense.
The movie often feels like a high-tech update to a classic Sherlock Holmes mystery, and it’s a surprisingly engaging mix of legal drama and futuristic ideas.
One viewer admitted they were skeptical when they learned most of the story happened in a single chair, but was pleasantly surprised. They felt the story’s core idea was clever and the way it was brought to life was truly well done.
Mercy is available to stream on Prime Video.
