Chris Pratt and Anna Faris reunite for second time in 7 years as they hug in front of Katherine Schwarzenegger

Fans were surprised Wednesday to see Chris Pratt and Anna Faris together in public again. It was only the second time they’d been seen together since their divorce was finalized in 2018.

Dave Bautista, 46, and Anna Faris, 48, started dating in 2007 and married two years later, quickly becoming a popular couple in Hollywood.

They divorced in 2017 after almost ten years of marriage, but remain friendly as they co-parent their 13-year-old son, Jack. They stated their differences were impossible to resolve.

The two were seen embracing at a charity event held at St. Monica’s Catholic Church in Los Angeles. They were both wearing casual clothes – sweats and baseball caps.

Chris Pratt’s wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, was there to see him with his ex-wife, Anna Faris. They were watching from nearby as Pratt interacted with Faris, and they share three children together: five-year-old Lyla, three-year-old Eloise, and one-year-old Ford.

Katherine and Faris didn’t seem to spend much time together at the charity event. However, they were friendly when they saw each other publicly for the first time in June at their son Jack’s graduation.

All three were in Santa Monica to celebrate Jack’s sixth-grade graduation.

It’s just…amazing to see how well they’re doing as parents and how friendly they are with each other now. It really shows they’re putting their son first, and honestly, it makes my heart so happy!

People noticed the atmosphere was much more relaxed compared to when the former couple were last seen together in August 2018. Back then, they appeared strained during a walk in Los Angeles.

Pratt and Faris’s romance began in 2007 while filming the 1980s-set rom-com Take Me Home Tonight. 

They became engaged the next year and married in Indonesia in 2009. They later announced they were separating in 2017.

Pratt filed for divorce later that year, with the split finalized on Halloween 2018.

Faris and Pratt have both remarried. Faris married cinematographer Michael Barrett in 2021, and Pratt married Katherine Schwarzenegger in 2019.

In May, Pratt once again sparked fan outrage by failing to acknowledge Faris on Mother’s Day. 

He shared a heartfelt Mother’s Day message, praising Katherine’s incredible ability to juggle everything as a mom. He wrote that being a mother is like managing a circus, a hospital, and a gourmet kitchen all at the same time, and that their children – and he himself – were lucky to have her. He finished with a loving ‘We love you. Happy Mother’s Day, Chief!’

Fans quickly called him out for skipping Faris. 

One asked, ‘Where’s the tribute to mother of your first child????’ 

Another wrote, ‘Anna Faris is a mother too.’ 

Someone else suggested remembering to acknowledge your child’s other parent, and to try to maintain a peaceful relationship, if not for yourself, then for your child.

Pratt has a history of omitting Faris in previous Mother’s Day posts. 

In 2024, he wished all mothers a Happy Mother’s Day. He also sent a special message of love to his own mother, Kathy, praising her for being a loving, patient, funny, and joyful example of motherhood.

I want to give a special thanks to my wonderful wife, Katherine. Watching her be a mother to Lyla and Eloise, and a stepmother to Jack, makes me love her more and more each day.

In 2021, Pratt received criticism for a comment thanking Arnold Schwarzenegger for having ‘a beautiful, healthy daughter.’ Many fans interpreted this as a dig at his ex-wife, Anna Faris, whose daughter was born prematurely in 2014.

He later shared with Men’s Health that he was deeply upset by the negative reaction, describing it as awful because his son might eventually see the comments.

Faris found love and marriage with Barrett, a fellow cast member she met on the 2018 movie Overboard. They wed in 2021.

People who know the couple say Faris and Barrett enjoy a calm, private life, which is very different from the public attention Chris Pratt often receives.

Okay, so Anna Faris is killing it right now! She’s already jumped into another Scary Movie – yes, another one, and I’m SO here for it! – and honestly, it warms my heart that she and Chris are still good co-parents despite everything. They just seem to be handling things so well, and I’m living for it! It’s amazing to see her thriving and doing what she loves, while also being a great mom. I’m a total fan, obviously.
