Chris Pine’s forgotten horror movie is now on Netflix
The largely overlooked horror movie titled “Carriers”, featuring Chris Pine, is now accessible for streaming on Netflix.
2009’s movie tells the story of four characters – portrayed by Chris Pine, Lou Taylor Pucci, Piper Perabo, and Emily VanCamp – as they struggle to stay alive during a global viral pandemic caused by the ‘World Ender Virus’. This deadly virus has drastically reduced the world’s population.
15 years after its initial release which brought in $5.8 million worldwide, the horror film “Carriers” has now been made accessible to Netflix users in both the United Kingdom and Ireland as of January 10th. The movie has been added to Netflix’s streaming service today.
In the face of a virus that seems determined to erase humanity, I, along with my brother Danny (Pucci), Brian (Pine), and our companions Bobby (Perabo) and Kate (VanCamp), embark on a perilous journey across the barren Southwestern desert. As we navigate this desolate landscape in an attempt to escape the pandemic, we gradually discover that the darkness lurking within each of us might be more destructive than any microbe.
Despite not causing a major stir at the movie theater, the film “Carriers,” helmed by directors Àlex and David Pastor, garnered generally favorable opinions upon its debut. Currently, it boasts an approval rating of 62% based on 37 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

Digital Spy
This film is an energetic, budget-friendly blend of compelling elements from ‘Mad Max’, ‘Outbreak’, and ‘Night of the Living Dead’. In just 84 minutes, it manages to hit all the right notes in a lively and engaging manner.
The Guardian
Similar to Zombieland without its humor or funny bits, and also lacking the authentic suspenseful scenes that it had.
TheHorrorShow
As a devoted enthusiast, I’d like to share that this movie isn’t just about the slow fade-out of mankind; it’s more about the gruesome downfall of our species.
Time Out
This subtle examination of our hidden survival impulses feels overly traditional and lacks clarity, making it less effective at stirring our emotional responses.
Carriers is streaming on Netflix.
