Okay, so Netflix just dropped the cast list for this new thriller called The Yeti, and it sounds awesome! It’s being directed by Michael Chaves – you might know him from The Curse of La Llorona and some of the Conjuring and Nun movies. And the cast? Seriously impressive! Chris Pine from Star Trek and Don’t Worry Darling is in it, along with Ray Winstone, Sofia Boutella, and Iona Bell – she’s in the new Hunger Games movie. They’re already filming out in Budapest, which is super cool. I’m definitely adding this one to my watchlist!
Thankfully, it looks like the plot of The Yeti is actually going to involve a yeti.
After an avalanche in the Alps, a father and daughter find themselves stuck in the mountains, and an ancient creature, frozen for ages, is unleashed.
Can they survive against a predator that can blend in with the show?
The script was written by Sean Tretta, known for his work on shows like Star Trek: Picard, Mayans MC, and 12 Monkeys. He collaborated with Peter Gaffney, who has a background primarily in animation, having written for series including Thomas & Friends: All Engines Go, Spidey and His Amazing Friends, the Rugrats reboot, and even The Simpsons.

We don’t have a confirmed release date yet, but since filming has begun, it’s likely to be released next year.
Recently, there’s been renewed discussion about bringing back the Star Trek movies. Simon Pegg mentioned that David Ellison, head of Paramount Skydance, is keen on reviving the series.
He mentioned that David Ellison is a huge Star Trek enthusiast and genuinely cares about the show, so he’d be thrilled with it.
I’d really love to make another movie with that team. We’re all very close, and even though we went through a difficult loss, it would be amazing to work together again. JJ Abrams has mentioned they’ve been working on scripts, and I think the time is right to revisit the project.
It appears the studio is considering a fresh start, potentially a reboot, and has hired Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley – the team who previously collaborated with Chris Pine on the Dungeons & Dragons film – to write and direct the new project.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a vibrant 100-page tribute to Harry Styles, is now available! You can purchase it at newsstands or online.
