Chris McCausland reveals Strictly bosses offered to bring in new rule for his performances during live shows but he refused

As a lifestyle expert with over two decades of experience in the entertainment industry, I have to commend Chris McCausland for his bravery and resilience on Strictly Come Dancing. His determination to participate and excel in the show despite facing unique challenges is truly inspiring.

It’s been disclosed that when Chris McCausland signed up for Strictly Come Dancing, the show’s producers proposed introducing a unique regulation specifically for him.

The stand-up comic is the initial visually impaired participant on the BBC’s dance competition, and he’s openly discussed the hurdles he encounters while mastering dance routines.

In conversation with The Guardian, Chris shared that show organizers inquired about his preference for the audience to remain silent during his acts, allowing him to locate Dianne more easily due to the noise levels.

Chris politely declined the generous proposition, explaining that the enchantment of Strictly originates from the ambiance within the room, and he wished to preserve that feeling.

He mentioned that as a comedian, one purpose is to foster a pleasant environment, which is why we’re here. However, he jokingly referred to himself as a bit high-maintenance or demanding in this context.

Over the weekend, Chris advanced to the quarterfinals on Strictly Come Dancing. He and his partner, Dianne (age 35), performed the Paso Doble, followed by participating in the Samba extravaganza.

however, the comedian has spoken out following accusations from angry Strictly viewers who deemed the Sambathon as discriminatory, unjust, and inappropriate.

On Saturday evening, I gracefully stepped onto the dance floor for an exhilarating group Samba performance against six other pairs – a simultaneous showdown that was nothing short of a dramatic dance spectacle.

Spectators felt that Chris was put at a distinct disadvantage due to his lack of understanding about space relationships, even though the judges continually urged the celebrities to navigate the dance floor.

Chris along with his skilled dance companion, Dianne, were the initial duo to exit the ballroom stage.

Leaving the dance floor initially earned Chris and Dianne just a single point, which placed them at the bottom-second position on the judge’s ranking board.

However, during their individual act later in the show, they performed an intense Pasodoble dance, scoring them 32 points this evening.

User from X posted: “It surprises me that they decided to revive the Sambathon this year, given Chris can’t perceive or interact with the other couples. It seems inevitable that he’ll be eliminated first, and I think it’s poor taste to put him in such a position.

I regret to say that the Samba competition seemed unfairly biased towards Chris. He had difficulty knowing his dance partners’ positions, and was unable to perform many of the moves that the other couples executed, as he needed to maintain a connection with Diane throughout the performance. It appears the choreography wasn’t well-suited for their partnership.

If it were an annual event, that would be expected… but they decided to revive it!! The decision was made thoughtfully… chosen carefully… implemented diligently! And with a well-known and favored participant! Crazy!!!

It seemed as though I could’ve bet on Chris being first. Absolutely unjust. His exuberant celebration of the one-point score felt like a subtle ‘take that’.

As Chris saw it, the situation was more of a jest, and it seemed he took no notice of it. Regardless, he’s confident about making it through. The real competition is over the remaining spots.

Following the labeling of the samba-thon as discriminatory towards Chris, he shared his thoughts about his performance on Instagram.

He wrote: ‘I was really proud of our dance on Saturday, and as for the Sambathon….[zipped-mouth emoji] ….Well thank you so much for all of your votes.

I truly appreciate your assistance in getting through that challenging Latin lesson. Looking forward to seeing you again tomorrow, Dianne Buswell. By the way, I might bring some earplugs for good measure!

For more than twenty years, Chris has been a well-known comedian, frequently appearing on popular comedy programs such as Have I Got News for You, Would I Lie to You?, QI, The Last Leg, and 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.

The popular television personality has additionally made guest appearances on Celebrity Gogglebox with his friend and fellow comedian Donna Preston, as well as a single episode of EastEnders.

He also has his very own morning chat show The Chris McCausland Show, which debuted on ITV in June
