Chris Hughes’ Tears Were Real, Says Expert—But He Has a Rival

In simpler terms, Judi James, a specialist in body language, believes that Chris Hughes’ emotional confession during the Diary Room segment on Celebrity Big Brother was sincere, and there is one significant competitor within the house for him.

On Monday evening’s show, the ex-Love Island celebrity, aged 32, became emotional and wept when he was labeled as a ‘manipulator’ following criticism for what some perceived as an inappropriate friendship with JoJo Siwa, who is 21 years old.

1. “The pair have sparked rumors due to their apparent closeness, as Chris referred to her as his girlfriend, even though JoJo is currently in a relationship. This has led many viewers to label his actions as insincere.”

2. “The two have ignited talk among spectators due to their close bond, with Chris publicly calling her his girlfriend, despite JoJo being in a committed relationship already. Consequently, viewers consider his behavior as deceitful.”

The situation escalated when he was labeled as manipulative during an assignment, with multiple housemates implying that his friendship with JoJo might be strategically planned.

He spent more than an hour in the Diary Room, weeping: “I’m simply expressing myself truthfully here, dealing with things I dislike intensely, such as harmful and negative aspects of life, and detestable environments that drain my energy.

Regarding Chris’ actions, Judi communicated to Paddy Power Games: “Chris’ outburst in the Diary Room seemed genuine and was likely influenced, at least partly, by the intense physical fatigue that comes from maintaining pace with a vibrant 21-year-old ‘playmate’, who seems to live life perpetually energized by sugar.

Chris’s gestures started resembling those of a child, hinting that the activity which required him to behave as an infant may have touched upon his sensitive emotional aspects.

Engaging in role-play within the high-pressure environment of Big Brother can trigger various emotional reactions. While it may appear entertaining on television, the Big Brother scenario brings adult interactions down to playground dynamics. Being coddled by fictitious ‘caretakers’ or confined in a pen throughout the day might have contributed to Chris revealing his genuine immature side at a later point.

It was apparent that he made an effort to remain resilient as he faced conflicting emotions when accusations of him playing games were brought up.

She noted: ‘Chris displayed a dominant, arrogant stance along with a shrug to indicate a powerful, tough reaction, yet there was also an indication of discomfort that seemed like physical pain and he started drinking from his water bottle, which is often a Big Brother sign of vulnerability and the need for comfort.’

When housemates are stressed, they often end up using the water bottles like soothing baby feeding bottles instead.

‘In the Diary Room, Chris pulled his hood down over his face as his adult bravado melted.

His decision to hide his emotions indicated that he didn’t want to fake crying, a valued commodity in scripted reality shows such as TOWIE, for authentic displays of emotion.

‘His one swinging leg was a metronomic ritual aimed to self-soothe by creating a rocking effect.’

She disclosed that the allegations of playing games and pretending friendship for personal benefit had severely shaken his unwavering self-assurance, causing it to fade away and disappear like grass in a field.

Judi noted that ‘He chose to ‘Hedgehog’ by hiding within his garments as a means of self-defense, remaining inside the Diary Room for more than an hour.’

A body language analyst disclosed that Chris’ excessive desire for power, or ‘role greed,’ was the primary reason behind his fall from grace as the previously beloved housemate.

One key insight drawn from the Big Brother experiment over time is this: When individuals are placed in close-knit settings for extended periods, they often exhibit behavior similar to animals.

The collective is commonly referred to as a ‘pack’, and typically, the roles within this pack can be rather straightforward, suggesting an atmosphere focused on survival.

As a lifestyle advisor, I’d say I often witness individuals taking on multiple, seemingly disparate roles within their social circles. Last night, I found myself in a similar situation, knowingly or unknowingly embracing two dramatically different roles. This duality, I later realized, was the root cause of my breakdown last night, what I’d like to call an ‘over-role’ predicament.

It appears that Chris shows four notable physical cues and behaviors suggesting he aspires for a dominant role, or ‘alpha’ status.

In group situations, he frequently adopts an alpha posture. This can manifest as standing tall with expansive gestures to assert dominance, or reclining casually while also spreading out his body to signal a calm confidence in his physical authority.

Judi mentioned that his confrontation with Mickey Rourke was a display of alpha behavior, since he protected the group by demonstrating physical courage.

She remembered: ‘He fixed his gaze on Mickey and wouldn’t yield an inch when faced off. Poor Chesney broke down in tears last night upon learning he hadn’t intervened when Mickey made a disparaging remark to one of the females, but no one could doubt that Chris wasn’t courageous.’

Chris’s third action labeled as ‘alpha’ was him utilizing the cat litter. This seemed like a dramatic, symbolic display, akin to chest-beating and marking territory.

It was evident that the statement carried significant weight for him since Big Brother recommended alternative choices. Moreover, its bold and rebellious tone implied he aimed to convey an image of absolute authority. In other words, the individual who has no qualms about urinating on live television during prime time is one who fears nothing.

His frequent need for touch, stroking, and attention to his personal grooming issues like ingrown hairs, and so forth, mirrors the comforting, hygienic routines that subordinate members might carry out on a dominant figure within a herd, aiming to promote tranquility and unity in the group.

We observed Chris exhibiting considerable authority when he instructed his friend to clean a chocolate spot on his pants by mouth.

However, Chris’s insatiable desire for power, or what I would call ‘power hunger,’ resulted in last night’s outburst when others started to criticize him. This is because Chris has assumed the contradictory positions of being both the leader (alpha) and a source of trouble within the household (troublesome teenager), roles that don’t usually go hand in hand.

As a lifestyle advisor, I’d like to express my observation: My actions within this shared living space have included late-night, hushed conversations and certain touch gestures that appear to be intimate and exclusive with one particular roommate. This conduct has sparked speculations of strategic gameplay and the formation of a clique distinct from the rest of the household.

‘Chris has painted himself into a corner here and the main battle has been primed.’

She also shared that he has one key rival when it comes to the group of celebs.

‘Chris has a key rival in terms of both alpha and playful behaviours, and it is Danny,’ said Judi.

In last night’s House events, it appeared as though the two top leaders were on the verge of a confrontation. The perception of Chris as an open, honest, and likable individual was being challenged, while Danny’s ability to gauge the mood of a room was also under scrutiny, potentially undermining what he referred to as his ‘superpower’.

A conflict between two of the household’s most powerful figures would be a situation that no one inside desires, for it might lead to significant turmoil or disorder.

Thus, the frequent utterance of “I love you” was a form of camouflage, as the hurtful words were intermingled with expressions of affection during the exchange.

As a devoted admirer, I’ve found myself reflecting on Chris’ actions towards JoJo, a younger individual. The way he suggested having her babies has sparked a wave of comments labelling it as ‘creepy’ and ‘unusual’.

On Sunday, Ben, Chris’ brother, countered the allegations of manipulative behavior and confidently stated that Chris is likely to maintain their friendship with JoJo even after they exit the Celebrity Big Brother house.

On Sunday night’s Late & Live show, Ben was among the celebrity’s relatives who called in, swiftly standing up for his cherished brother.

When inquired about Chris and JoJo’s friendship persisting, he responded affirmatively, expressing his belief that their bond has somewhat unsettled other housemates, a dynamic we are now beginning to observe.

Throughout our conversation, it’s been consistent that their shared humor and vitality echoes Chris’s, and he’s even mirrored the phrases I used in the Diary Room tonight. Given this, I’m confident they’ll continue to be friends.
