At a recent Ed Sheeran concert in Romania, fans got a delightful surprise when none other than Chris Hemsworth made an appearance on stage!
Chris Hemsworth, famed for his work as Thor with his mighty hammer, amazed the audience when he played drums alongside Ed Sheeran, performing before an enthusiastic crowd of 70,000 people.
The surprise collaboration came after Hemsworth reached out to Sheeran last December.
An Australian actor, involved in creating a documentary about cognitive health and musical instruments, opted to embrace the task personally by teaching himself how to play the drums.
In the course of my own adventure, I sought out private drumming tutelage from a renowned British musician, and the outcome on stage was truly remarkable, leaving no room for understatement.
On Sunday, Ed took to Instagram to share video footage of the incredible moment.
In the video, the artist shared that they were currently in Bucharest, as Chris had reached out to them in December with news about a documentary he was making on cognitive health and the advantages of playing an instrument.
‘He came to visit me, and he has learnt drums and now Cindy’s coming on stage in front of 70,000.’
As Hemsworth performed with Sheeran’s group, the audience burst into enthusiastic clapping and shouts of approval throughout the entire show.
With genuine excitement for his friend’s musical premiere, Sheeran whipped up the crowd, encouraging them to, “Let’s give it up for Chris Hemsworth! A big handclap please, folks! You truly outdid yourselves tonight.”
The unique talent of Hemsworth on the drums was honored with a witty “Participation Award,” which was amusingly handed to him by Ed Sheeran’s team.
The playfully named award, titled “The Participation Award for Outstanding Drumming,” was a humorous recognition of the actor’s tireless endeavors and passion in mastering a fresh talent.
Since then, the unexpected performance of the actor at the concert has spread like wildfire across social media platforms, as fans showered them with admiration for Chris Hemsworth’s skillful drumming and Ed Sheeran’s graciousness in letting him share the spotlight.
