Production on Avengers: Secret Wars is scheduled to begin this summer, marking the end of the Multiverse Saga in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As Phase 6 of the MCU nears completion, Marvel is preparing to wrap up its large-scale multiverse storyline within the next year.
Chris Hemsworth and Halle Berry recently joked with CinemaBlend about why Berry’s Storm won’t be appearing in Avengers: Doomsday, as she’s confirmed she isn’t returning for the film. When asked if Thor was happy about this, considering their similar powers, Hemsworth playfully responded, “No, I was bummed.”
Hemsworth explained that he imagines Thor would recognize a shared ability with the weather, saying, ‘We have something in common – incredible control over the weather.’ He then jokingly promised to get Halle Bailey involved in the next Avengers movie, Secret Wars.
In a recent conversation with ScreenRant, Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry hinted that her version of Storm might reappear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, even though she wasn’t included in Avengers: Doomsday. With most of the cast for Avengers: Secret Wars still unconfirmed, there’s a chance she could be involved in the 2027 film.
The cast of Avengers: Doomsday will be filming some extra scenes this spring before they begin work on the next Avengers movie, which is scheduled to start filming this summer. This could potentially open the door for unexpected cameos and returns of familiar characters within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has several new movies planned. Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be the first, hitting theaters on July 31st. Later this year, on December 18th, comes Avengers: Doomsday, and Avengers: Secret Wars is currently scheduled for release on December 17, 2027.
