As a seasoned fan of Transformers, I’ve watched in awe as the epic saga of these transforming robots has unfolded over the years. With each new installment comes new adventures, new alliances, and new challenges. And from the looks of the latest trailer for “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts,” it seems that we’re in for another thrilling ride.

At San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday, Chris Hemsworth came back after a long absence to unveil the latest trailer for his upcoming animated project titled “Transformers One.”

As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: For decades, I, an actor turning 40, have been a beloved and consistent presence at San Diego Comic-Con, specifically in Hall H at the Convention Center. My role as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies drew immense crowds and excitement each year.

Now, he’s returning for the animated prequel to Paramount’s Transformers franchise, titled “Transformers One,” set to be released in theaters on September 20.

At the Hall H panel, Brian Tyree Henry (D-16), Keegan-Michael Key (B-127), and director Josh Cooley joined him. For the very first time, the trailer was unveiled to the fans in their presence.

In this film, we get to learn about the backstories of two legendary Transformers characters, Optimus Prime (portrayed by Hemsworth) who was once known as Orion Pax, and Megatron (Henry) who went by the name D-16, before they became the icons we know today.

At San Diego Convention Center’s Hall H, Chris Hemsworth made an entrance wearing a white T-shirt underneath a short-sleeved button-down shirt, accessorized with a long golden necklace.

At Comic-Con, the actor accessorized with a silver watch and wore light blue denim jeans while warmly welcoming fans once more.

His co-actors and the movie’s director joined him for a talk about the film and unveiled a new trailer. In this trailer, we see how Optimus Prime, previously named Orion Pax, and Megatron, formerly known as D-16, once enjoyed a strong friendship.

The trailer opens with Chris Hemsworth’s voice narrating, “We’ve been fighting for countless centuries,” while scenes depict Optimus and Megatron preparing to clash.

“Yet, long ago, we weren’t foes…” Orion reminisces, as the scene shifts back in time, revealing that Orion and D-16 once shared a deep friendship.

In one scene, it is revealed that while both worked at a factory, not all of the robots there possessed the capability to transform.

Some of the larger transformer robots bump into D-16 as he tells them to watch where they’re going.

One large bot remarks, “You can’t change forms, though,” to which Orion retorts, “Just because you can’t, Darkwing, doesn’t mean I can’t. Watch this,” as he snaps his finger and mimics the Transformer sound. The enraged bot lunges at him in an attempt to strike, but D-16 steps in to shield Orion from the punch.

“I’m permitted,” says D-16 as he strikes Orion, then expresses gratitude towards him afterwards, adding, “Regardless of the circumstances.”

Orion, D-16, Elita-1 (portrayed by Scarlett Johansson), and B-127, also known as Bumblebee (represented by Key) are observed monitoring a distress signal from earth as they set out on a mission, aiming to demonstrate the value of their transformer counterparts.

“Orion remarks, as the group of robots approaches a cave referred to as ‘a cave with teeth’ by B-127, ‘It’s time to prove we have more to offer than what is initially apparent,'” or

When they encounter the ancient Transformer named Alpha Trion, represented by Laurence Fishburne, they venture inside to investigate.

“You possess great inner power,” Alpha Trion encourages them. “Here are some tools. Use them to unlock your maximum capabilities and become Transformers.”

The bots experience some difficulties while evolving their capabilities, leading to Orion eventually assuming the form of the famous red semi-truck. At this point, Alpha Trion reminds them, “The decision on how to employ this power lies with each of you.”

In a soft voice, Orion murmurs, “We’re transitioning,” but his words go unheard by the others. Elita urges, “Say it louder,” so Orion complies, “Transform and make our move!”

“Orion expresses his desire to contribute to creating a better world to D-16. However, D-16 persists with the belief that we have the potential for much greater things.”

Elita informs Orion that she’s observed D-16 acting strange, as she’s witnessed him brandishing a large weapon resembling an arm gun.

‘Yeah, yeah, no I picked up on that,’ Orion says and B-127 insists, ‘I picked up on that too.’

In the trailer, Orion expresses a hopeful sentiment as he and his team create the emblems of the Autobots and Decepticons: “We might have constructed a brighter future side by side.” However, D-16 disagrees, responding, “I don’t believe that’s an option for us.”

As I watch the trailer come to an end, Orion’s voice echoes through me, “Now is the time for us to unite, as one strong force.” The scene fades out, revealing Decepticons such as Starscream, Soundwave, and Shockwave. I chuckle slightly to myself, “Come on guys, who here has a wave in their name? Seems there are quite a few of us!”
