Chris Hemsworth nears deal to play one of Disney’s most beloved princes

Reports suggest that a 41-year-old charming Australian actor might be discussing roles with Disney for their upcoming Prince Charming movie, as per Deadline’s reports.

The upcoming movie will be helmed by Paul King, who previously directed “Paddington”, and the screenplay for this new project is being jointly written by Simon Farnaby and Jon Croker.

Details concerning the plot are being kept secret, leaving us guessing if this production will utilize animation or live action.

As a devoted fan, I can confirm that this upcoming tale won’t be a direct continuation of a classic Disney princess narrative. Instead, it promises a refreshing perspective on the timeless prince character.

Typically, characters similar to Prince Charming have been featured in popular fairytales such as Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Rapunzel. They are usually portrayed as secondary figures whose main duty is saving the leading lady from danger.

To clarify, among his directorial works are the films “Wonka” released in 2023, as well as “Paddington” from 2014 and its follow-up “Paddington 2,” which came out in 2017.

The film starring Timothée Chalamet as Wonka proved to be a financial triumph for Warner Bros., raking in a total of $218 million at the domestic box office and an impressive $634 million globally, according to Box Office Mojo.

The 2014 Paddington film and its sequel both proved to be financial hits, with the former generating $76 million at the domestic box office and a total of $332 million globally.

The sequel brought in $40 million in domestic box office and $283 million worldwide.

A third installment in the franchise, Paddington in Peru, lists King as an executive producer.

King was previously linked to the 2022 Pinocchio movie that Robert Zemeckis ultimately directed.

The Disney news comes as Hemsworth enjoys a remarkable run in Tinseltown. 

This summer, he earned outstanding praise for portraying the character Dementus, the wasteland plunderer, in George Miller’s film titled “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.

At present, he provides the voice for Orion Pax, who transforms into Optimus Prime in the future, on the animated Transformers series called “One.

In the future, Hemsworth has a number of intriguing projects planned, among them being the Transformers/G.I. Joe crossover film produced by Paramount.

Instead of continuing with an animated role, he’s expected to transition into live-action acting, potentially taking on the persona of a G.I. Joe figure.
