Chris Hemsworth lands unique new movie role playing himself
As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I must say that the upcoming film series, Stuntnuts, sounds like an absolute game-changer! The idea of seeing Chris Hemsworth and Sam Rockwell lend their star power to support our unsung heroes – stunt performers – is not just thrilling, but also heartwarming.
Marvel star Chris Hemsworth has landed a unique new movie role playing himself.
In the upcoming four-part movie series titled “Stuntnuts,” the actor known for portraying Thor in the superhero franchise will make an appearance. Additionally, Sam Rockwell, from the film “Argylle,” has signed on to star in this series as well (according to Deadline).
In the upcoming film, Stuntnuts: The Movie, originally shot in November 2023, our featured duo will make an appearance. Post-production work wraps up by the end of this coming month.
Under the guidance of stunt coordinator Damien Walters, the story revolves around a team of athletes aiming to collect money for the gym that served as their training ground.
The movie’s summary playfully notes that they offer their agility and acrobatic talents for hire, working as stunt performers in films.
The performers will also collaborate with a team of stunt performers, known collectively as “the nuts,” who will feature in all four films and have an amusing moniker derived from nuts.
As a devoted admirer, I’d like to share a fun twist: Hemsworth’s frequent stunt double, Bobby Holland Hanton, is known as “Nutjob,” while the gymnast extraordinaire and Tom Holland’s stunt double, Greg Townley, goes by the moniker “Hardnut.” It’s an entertaining way to recognize their daring feats!
In a fun twist, the stunt performer for both Harry Potter and Game of Thrones, Paul Lowe, is referred to as ‘Peanut’, while the sole female stuntman in these films, Haruka Oshima, is known as ‘Hazelnut’.
As a gamer, I’m all pumped up to share some exciting news! In the upcoming third installment of the Stuntnuts series, titled “Stuntnuts Does Shiver,” WWE legend John Cena is set to appear as none other than Chestnut! That’s right, The Champ is here, ready to bring his unique charm and charisma to the big screen.
Producer Matthew Vaughn stated, “What makes this movie enjoyable is that well-known actors will team up with our stunt performers, who, in turn, will be the main attractions in the film.
Furthermore, it was disclosed that Hemsworth and Rockwell consented to participate in the movie to lend a hand to their fellow stunt performers.
“I talked to Chris about the idea and then Matthew helped cement it. Sam was interested as well. We’ve all worked together and, you know how ideas get discussed between takes on a set and this was one of them,” he explained. “It was the germination of an idea, that sort of grew out of control.”
Stuntnuts: The Movie doesn’t have a release date yet.
